Ye Are Gods - Samuel A. Buah

    Dedication

    To:

God the Father, who has of His own will begotten us with the Word of Truth.

The Lord Jesus Christ, who has made us kings and priests unto God in the earth.

The Holy Spirit, who gives unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.

The children of the Most High: all who are called gods by the Scriptures.

    Preface

In the hope of revealing (according to my understanding in the mystery of Christ,) who the believer is, and the life into which we have been called, I wrote my first book—The New Creature. In it, I explained that the man in Christ is the newest of God's creatures, and that this new race were created in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world to be God's children, begotten after His own kind; and have therefore obtained the same nature and life as God. I went on to talk about the inheritance of the children of God.

Although you do not necessarily have to read the first book to understand what I speak of in this one, it would be worthwhile to get and read it. The New Creature establishes the proper foundation upon which this book is written. Understanding what is set forth in that book would make it a whole lot easier to receive the revelation in this one.

If we are children of God; having obtained the same life as God, then what manner of life ought we to live? This is what this book is all about.

    Samuel A. Buah.

    Introduction

    Children of the Most High

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has of His own will begotten us (who believe in Christ) into a lively hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (see James 1:18, 1Peter 1:3). When we believed on the name of the Son of God, we were born again: this time around, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13). Just as we proceeded from our earthly fathers into this world, being brought forth by our mothers, so were we begotten of our Heavenly Father the day we received His Son into our hearts. When we believed and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of our lives, we became children of God.

God planned to have His own children even before the foundation of the world and so created us in Christ Jesus. He did this with the intention that His children would be a peculiar race, separated and dedicated to Him, and to the good works which He had before ordained for them to walk in. This is the reason why Jesus Christ was manifested into this world: for not only did He come to save us from our sins, but also that He might of men, bring many sons unto glory (see Matthew 1:21, Hebrews 2:10). He accomplished this by giving eternal life to all who believed on His name.

Through His death and resurrection, He brought forth out of Himself all the children of God who were created in Him before the world began. It was through His resurrection that every believer is begotten of God. All that I have said hitherto have been explained in great detail in my first book, The New Creature.

Having been born again with the seed of God, which is the Word of God, our Father reproduced Himself in us so that there would be many more with the same nature as Himself. We received the same life (eternal life) which God possesses by inheriting Christ into our hearts. Christ who is the power of God and the wisdom of God (see 1Corinthians 1:24) became our life:

"When Christ, who is our life..." (Colossians 3:4).

Everyone who has believed on the Lord Jesus Christ therefore has inside his or her spirit, all the power and all the wisdom of God because such a person is born of God. Now in Psalm 82:6, Asaph declared the word of the Lord:

"I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High."

Jesus quoted and expounded this verse in John 10:34-36. According to the Lord, those to whom the word of God came were called gods ('elohiym), and so He being sanctified and sent into the world by His Father was indeed the Son of God.

We who believe in Jesus Christ are not only recipients of God's Word, but have also by the seed of God been born of God our Father. Truly, we are children of the Most High. Therefore, though the above verse spoke concerning the saints in the Old Testament, it actually presented a shadow and a figure of the reality that was to be manifested in those of us who have the faith of Jesus Christ.

If we are children of the Most High (God), then we are not mere men, but are as a matter of fact, gods. We should therefore live as such in this world.

Moreover, if the life that is in our Father is the same life that He has freely given to us through Christ, and if all the power and wisdom of God have thus been deposited into our spirits, then we should not live ordinary human lives, but rather as 'elohiym. Furthermore, if we are sons of God now just as Jesus was when He walked the earth (as I have also explained in my first book,) then we must do all that He did, and even greater works than what He did just as He said (see John 14:12).

My goal in this book, therefore, is to show you through the Spirit, and my understanding in the mystery of Christ, a few things about what our Father has freely given and made available to us, and the manner of life He wants us to live so that we might learn to exercise ourselves unto godliness.

As you digest this book, may God make known unto you what is the fellowship of the mystery, so that you may know for certain that Christ in you is your hope for a glorious and a divine life. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abound unto you through the revelations which you receive so that you might walk as the god that you are in this world through Christ. Amen.

    chapter one

The mind which was also in Christ

Our lives as people who have inherited eternal life should be far from ordinary. Having died to the life of the earthly man (Adam) in Christ, and having been raised up together with Christ as children of God, we should put off our old lifestyle, be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and live as new men in Christ.

If we possess eternal life in our spirits, then the life that we exhibit in this world should be that of God. We should walk not as mere men, but as sons and daughters of God through Christ. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Our lives are regulated by our minds. If we are going to live as children of God in word and in deed, then we would have to stop thinking of ourselves as mere human beings, change our mindset, and acknowledge that we are gods.

Therefore, in this chapter and the next, I will speak of operating with the mind of Christ from two standpoints. Firstly, Apostle Paul admonishes us to have in us the mind which was also in Christ Jesus:

"5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" (Philippians 2:5-8).

According to the above passage of Scriptures, though Jesus Christ was in the form of God, He walked the earth with a mindset of humility and obedience toward the Father; thinking not of it as robbery though equal with God. What makes this passage astounding to me is that the Apostle admonishes us who are in Christ to have this same mindset. This is because we who believe, being children of God, are also like our Father just like Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Therefore, if our Lord who Himself is the Everlasting God had this mindset, then we who were created in Him to be sons of God should even more so possess this mind just as He did.

He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death; casting off His reputation and making Himself a servant. If He did this, then we should also do same. We must therefore humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God; being clothed with humility: because God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble (see 1Peter 5:5-6).

Though we are in the form of God, we are not of the same stature as God yet. We are to grow into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Even Jesus, when He came into this world, had to be made perfect as a Son according to the Scriptures (see Hebrews 5:8-9). God wants us to possess all of His fullness through the knowledge of Him.

The more the Lord is revealed to us or the more we receive the knowledge of the Truth, the more we are transformed into that same image of the Lord which we behold from glory to glory as by the Spirit of the Lord (see 2Corinthians 3:18).

Our growth and maturity into all of the fullness of God is according to the revelations of God we receive through the ministry of the Holy Ghost. This is where our humility matters: because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

As a child of God, if you do not humble yourself before God, He will resist you from receiving His grace. You will not be able to receive the revelations of the Lord which would
