    About the Author

    Foreword

Many years ago, while I was on television, my program The Winners Way, was airing in local prisons and correctional centres. Inmates began to write to me, and one particular prisoner requested a visit. Because of Pastor Brian’s unique life journey, I asked Pastor Brian if he would visit this prisoner on my behalf. From this visit was birthed our Prison Chaplaincy Ministry.

Brian has now been visiting the correctional centres of South East Queensland for the last 20 years. During this time, Pastor Brian has witnessed firsthand the destructive power of the enemy on people’s lives and their families. He has also witnessed the life changing power of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ firsthand. Hundreds of men have been encouraged, comforted and found Christ. This work still continues to this day.

Brian has an amazing testimony, and I have helped him produce this book, from his bible college study notes and firsthand experience of the work of the kingdom of darkness. In this book, you will learn about the existence of Satan and his nature. Through many biblical references from the word of God, you will be able to learn where demons come from and how you can have authority over Satan and the evil forces of darkness.

I highly recommend this work to every scholar of the bible, who desires to understand how the kingdom of darkness works and how to take authority over these evil, destructive forces.

I am reminded of that quotes by Sun Tzu, Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles, you will never be in peril. When you are ignorant of the enemy, but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal. If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril.-Sun Tzu, The Art of War

    Introduction

Why are we undertaking Bible Studies?

Firstly we want to be a good servant in Christ.

    2 Timothy 4:6-16 says,

    v. 6, ‘For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.

    v. 7, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    v. 8, In the future there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only but also to all who have loved his appearing.

    v. 9, Make every effort to come to me soon;

    v. 10, For Demas has deserted me, having loved this present world and has departed to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

    v. 11, Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

    v. 12, And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

    v. 13, The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when you come, bring with you the books, but especially the parchments.

    v. 14, Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm: the Lord reward (repay) him according to his works (deeds):

    v. 15, Be on guard against him yourself; for he has greatly opposed our words.

    v. 16, At my first defence no man stood with me, but all men deserted me: I pray God that it may not be counted against them.’

Secondly, to be teachers and examples.

    1. We need to be taught, so we may teach others. In 2 Timothy 2:2 Paul says, ‘And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same you commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.’

    2. Paul is encouraging believers who are taught in the word, that they, in turn, are to reproduce themselves. Disciples need to be equipped so that they can pass on their faith, and their work is not done until new believers are able to make disciples of others.

    3. Look at Ephesians 4:12, 13,

    v. 12, ‘For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

    v. 13, Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.’

I believe that what we learn through this study, we will be able to teach others, so they, as the scripture says, will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves.

God has given us an enormous responsibility to make disciples in every nation starting from here. Look at Matthew 28:18-20,

    v. 18, ‘And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.

    v. 19, Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost:

    v. 20, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and remember, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.’

    This involves:

    Preaching

    Teaching

    Healing

    Nurturing

    Giving

    Administering

    Building and many other tasks

If we had to fulfill this command as individuals, we might as well give up without trying; it would be impossible. God calls us as members of His body. Some of us are able to do one task; some are able to do another. Together we can obey God more fully than any of us could do alone.

    Look at Ephesians 4:4,

    v. 4, ‘There is one body and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling.’

    Read Genesis 3:1-24,

    v. 1, ‘Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which
