From the Heart
By The Mad Poet
()
About this ebook
This book is written, pretty much literally, from the heart. Each and every poem has a special meaning to the Mad Poet because the words were placed on paper when the heart told him to write. Whether he was driving down the road or working on a project, when the words came, he had to stop whatever he was doing and write them down or they were gone and the grace and beauty of their message went with them.

From the Heart - The Mad Poet
Poet’s Soul
Those of us who spread the word
Of love and caring, share
A Brotherhood, of sorts, on Earth;
A Brotherhood that’s rare.
Some have the gift of knowledge of
Vocabularies long;
Some know the way to turn a phrase
;
Turn sorrow into Song.
The remainder have the beauty of
Poetic Love to share;
And, always, there’s the Poet’s Soul
To be laid open there.
Personal Reflections
Prose of Life
The Prose of Life is within me;
It speaks through this quill
in my hand,
Flowing smoothly, at times, like a river,
To nourish a parched, barren land.
On other occasions, it’s painful;
To try forcing words is a sin.
They always must flow free and easy,
From the heart, and the Soul, deep within.
Great is my need for this writing;
So easing the torment of day.
For soon fades the picture of labors,
And loving and dreaming hold sway.
Could I find but the time to do daily,
This hobby which eases my mind,
Then, surely, each new day of living,
Would be everlastingly mine!
Give Love
I am not a Poet Laureate;
No acclaim do I desire.
I only wish to express what’s me,
What sets my Soul on fire.
If perchance, what I have to say
Rings true within your heart,
I have succeeded, in some small way
To say and do my part.
I have been sent here to imbibe
All goodness mankind shares;
Then, turn around and give it back,
A hundredfold, with care.
I will not learn Man’s hatred,
His deceit of fellow Man.
I will take all the Love there is,
To give it back again.
Man knows not the Gift he has,
The joy that each could give,
In loving well his fellow Man,
Just let him HIS life live!
Those of Love, who chose to come,
Mankind, to show the way,
Have hard the task of teaching him,
To, his brother, love today.
Oft, you think that he deserves
To not survive the trial;
He should die as those he’s killed,
And hated and reviled!
Still, those of Love, Compassion, Care,
Dedication, Truth,
Know, whether it’s deserved or not,
Man’s story is not through!
Mankind has hope wherever there
Lives one small child who smiles,
And knows not yet just how to hate
His Brother across the miles.
As long as there’s a mother,
Whether Sarah, Gladys, Jill,
There will be alive the hope, the prayer,
For Man to learn Love still.
There is no need for religion,
In the stereotypical way,
All Mankind needs is Love sincere,
And the ability to pray.
Prayer could, in one brief instant,
Save this Earth, and all within,
If all men asked our Savior
To give them Love and take their sin.
To Be
To Be
Is to live life to the fullest;
To create and utilize all of your God-given powers;
To need, and be dependent on someone;
To work ’til every sinew of your body aches;
To relax and enjoy the rejuvenation.
Most importantly,
To Be is to Love;
Giving your all for that Love;
And, in Loving,
To cherish the powers of Love.
For, in its realm are hatred,
Jealousy, and deceit.
Beware of these, for they cannot strengthen Love;
Misuse of these powers is condemning.
Use to the fullest
The powers of Faith, Trust, and Understanding.
They do naught but strengthen,
Causing to grow the small seed of Love,
As it is first planted.
As Love continues to grow,
These powers nurture its growth,
Protecting it from harm.
Always be willing to bend;
An unyielding oak is soon destroyed,
But the tree that bends
Shall rise straight and erect,
When calm weather returns.
Nothing and no one is perfect;
We, each, have our strengths,
And our banes;
Accept your Love as the Lord created,
Trying not to change them.
You fell in love with the way they were,
Not with the way you would have them be.
In short, to Be is to live;
To live is to Love;
And Love is all there is!
I love you, therefore, I am!
