Memories Of Your Charm - Scarlett Everhart
Mother
My mother never had a life,
She was busy comforting others with the words she wished to hear.
Living in a world where selflessness was learned,
She carried herself with grace and poise, never once did her spirit falter or deter.
She was a woman with dreams untold,
But the burdens of life were heavy to hold.
From dawn to dusk, she tended to her home,
Cooking, cleaning, and ensuring we were never alone.
We lived in a modest abode, but it was enough,
As long as we had each other, life was tough.
She worked hard to provide us with all that we needed,
A mother's love, unconditionally given, was truly a gift that far exceeded.
As children, we didn't understand the depth of her sacrifice,
But as the years went by, we began to realize.
The world was cruel, with its trials and tribulations,
Yet she stood by us, through our own trials and revelations.
Her voice was soothing, her touch gentle and kind,
She had a magnetic presence that could ease any troubled mind.
Whenever we needed a shoulder to cry on or an ear to hear,
She was there without fail, always ready to wipe away our tears.
But behind those eyes, we saw a deep longing,
A yearning for a life that was filled with something.
More than just the duties of tending to others,
She wanted to explore, dream, and discover.
But she never once complained, never once did she falter,
Her spirit remained unbroken, her heart never a falter.
For she knew that the greatest joy in life was in giving,
And her children's happiness was what kept her truly living.
As the years went by, she aged gracefully,
But the fire in her heart still burned passionately.
She sat us down and shared her dreams,
Some may have thought it was too late, but to her, it was a chance to redeem.
She told us of places she wanted to see,
The simple pleasures she yearned to experience, carefree.
Our hearts swelled with pride and admiration,
For the strength that she had shown, truly was beyond imagination.
We rallied together to make her dreams come true,
We traveled the world, just me and you.
We laughed, we explored, and we created priceless memories,
And for once, my mother got to live life, unbound by responsibilities.
The joy on her face was unmistakable,
For the first time, she was invincible.
Her heart was overflowing with love and gratitude,
And she knew that happiness could be found, even in moments of solitude.
My mother never had a life,
But in the end, she found what she was looking for, without strife.
She taught us the meaning of selflessness and sacrifice,
And showed us that true joy in life comes from giving, not just avarice.
So, to my mother, I say thank you,
For everything that you have done, all that you went through.
For your love, your care, your sacrifices unknown,
You are the queen of our hearts, and forever etched in stone.
Wandering Heart
People are falling in love and I am falling apart,
A wandering soul lost in the midst of night,
My heart wanders alone, seeking for a start,
As the world continues on with all its might.
The stars above twinkle with a mocking light,
As the moon reflects a love so true,
But my heart beats with a lonely might,
For love seems to be forever askew.
Couples embrace and whisper sweet nothings,
As I wander through the streets alone,
My heart yearns for a love that brings,
A solace that I have never known.
The world whirls on with its own pace,
As I try to catch up with my crumbling heart,
Amidst the chaos, I search for a peaceful place,
Where love will come and never again depart.
I see them holding hands and stealing kisses,
Whispering their promises of forever,
While I am left with bittersweet wishes,
Wondering if love will ever come together.
My heart aches for a love so true,
But the world continues with its own demands,
Pushing me further away from what I pursue,
Leaving me alone with weary hands.
Yet, I continue searching for that heavenly light,
Hoping that someday love will find me at last,
The one that will guide me to my rightful sight,
And embrace me in a love that will forever last.
So, I take solace in the silence of the night,
And find comfort in the beauty of the stars,
For someday, my heart will be
