The Gentle Words She Left Behind - Scarlett Everhart

    The Art of Letting Go

You taught me how to love, but not how to stop,

The ways of holding tight, you never did swap.

Every breath, every moment was a tale of us,

The truest bond of love, ever so discuss.

You taught me how to laugh, but not how to cry,

The ways to live today, never the reasons why.

Every smile, every dream was a love affair,

The beauty of love we shared, never to impair.

You taught me how to feel, but not how to heal,

The hurt that builds up inside, never to reveal.

Every touch, every kiss was a way to show,

The love we had for each other, it always did glow.

You taught me how to give, but not how to take,

The ways to hold on, for love's sake.

Every sacrifice, every compromise we made,

The love that bound us, always will shade.

You taught me how to hope, but not how to cope,

The ways to move on, never to mope.

Every dream, every wish was a hope,

The love we had for each other, it was a scope.

You taught me how to trust, but not how to doubt,

The ways to hold on, never to rout.

Every promise, every vow was love's accord,

The love we shared, it was our reward.

You taught me how to fly, but not how to fall,

The ways to stay above, love's beckoning call.

Every height, every feat was a testament true,

The love we shared, never to misconstrue.

You taught me how to live, but not how to die,

The ways to survive, never to lie.

Every breath, every heartbeat was love's reminder,

The love we had for each other, it stays forever.

But now I have to let go, for what was once ours,

The memories I keep, those beautiful hours.

The love we had, will always remain,

But letting go of it, it's not all in vain.

For love can only do so much, before it must end,

To start anew, to allow the heart to mend.

The art of letting go, it's never easy,

But to love again, for it's time to set free.

So now I know how to love, and how to stop,

The ways to hold on, to reach the mountain top.

Every tear, every goodbye is a new beginning,

The love that we shared, it will forever be shining.

    Unrequited Love

Honest feelings and bad timing make the most painful combination,

A cruel union of heartache and missed opportunities.

It’s like dancing on moonlit shores, only to realize the tide is rising,

Submerging us in waves of agony and regret.

We were two souls entwined in the tapestry of life,

Whose threads were inexplicably woven together,

But the universe had other plans for us,

And fate played us like marionettes on a stage of uncertainty.

We met in a cafe, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the sound of laughter,

And from that moment, I knew I had stumbled upon something extraordinary.

Your eyes, like galaxies, hid stories untold,

And your smile held secrets that begged to be unveiled.

We sat for hours, losing track of time,

Discussing love, dreams, and the mysteries of the universe.

The way our thoughts flowed effortlessly,

It was as if we had known each other in some other lifetime.

But life has a way of throwing obstacles in our path,

And so it did with us, our love destined to face the wrath.

You were bound by responsibilities and commitments,

And I, caught in the intricate web of my own insecurities.

We danced around the flame of desire, cautious not to get burned,

But the chemistry between us crackled like electricity.

There were stolen glances, lingering touches,

And conversations that left us intoxicated with longing.

Yet, whenever it seemed like our souls would collide,

The hands of time pulled us apart,

Forcing us to exist in the shadows of what could have been,

Leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and unexplored possibilities.

We were caught in the turbulence of unrequited love,

Tossed and turned by the unpredictable winds of circumstance.

I hesitated to open my heart to you completely,

Fearful that our timing would forever be our downfall.

We tried to ignore the growing ache within us,

Pretending that the world could not unravel our emotions,

But the pain seeped through the cracks in our facades,

And we became casualties of a love that never had a chance.

Sometimes, in the stillness of the night,

I find myself traveling back to that coffee shop,

The bittersweet memories flooding my mind,

While the weight of what could have been settles in my heart.

I wonder if you still think of me when the stars paint the sky,

If you hear echoes of our laughter in the whispers of the wind.

Do you regret the choices that pulled us apart?

Or do you, too, find solace in the memories of our brief encounter?

    Honest feelings and bad timing,

They are the symphony of sorrow that plays on repeat.

But amidst the melancholy, there remains a glimmer of hope,

That maybe, one day, our paths will intertwine again.

For now, I carry the weight of what could have been,

And cling to the belief that our connection was not in vain.

In a world of missed chances and broken dreams,

Our love story remains an unfinished masterpiece.

    Beginning of Us

I want to go back to the time when you first told me your name,

To relive that moment, that first glimpse of all we became,

To feel once more the rush of blood to face as my heart raced,

And remember the beauty of the words that your lips graced.

It wasn't love at first sight, but it was something close,

A lightning bolt of connection, a feeling so engrossed,

I felt a spark, a fire that could ignite the most frigid heart,

I knew then that you were different, set apart from the start.

Your smile was infectious, your laughter pure joy,

Your eyes, bright and shining, made me feel like a small boy,

But it wasn't just your looks, there was something else inside,

A kindness, a warmth, a spirit I wanted to confide.

We talked for hours, about everything and nothing at all,

And I knew then that this encounter was something special, no mere fall,

That this could be the beginning of something that could last,

That this friendship could bloom into something far beyond our past.

As time went on, we grew closer, our bond solid like stone,

We shared our fears and our dreams, all that we'd ever known,

We laughed until we cried, sharing secrets we'd never shared,

And all the while a love that couldn't be contained flared.

We danced around the issue, too scared to take that leap,

But the tension between us was too much to keep,

So we went on our first date, and it was magic, pure magic,

It was like the world was ours, nothing could make us tragic.

As we explored the city, I couldn't believe that you were mine,

I had never met someone so perfect, so fine,

And as we walked together, holding hands, smiles on our faces,

I knew that it was you, I wanted in all my tight places.

Our relationship blossomed, into something bright and true,

And I found myself falling in love, totally, completely, with you,

Every moment we spent together was a special kind of magic,

As we traveled, explored, and indulged in endless romantic antics.

Years passed by, and our love only grew stronger,

We built a life together, one that lasted longer and longer,

We shared so many amazing moments, and also weathered dark days,

But through it all, we held together, through the good times and bad ways.

Now we're far beyond just the beginning, our love mature and secure,

But every now and then I think back to that moment, so pure,

When I heard you speak your name, and I knew that I'd never be the same,

And I smile, thankful for you, thankful for this love we claim.

It's hard to believe sometimes that so much time has gone by,

That we're no longer the young couple who once would do nothing but sigh,

But whenever I look into your eyes, see the love that still shines bright,

I'm reminded that even though time goes by, love like ours remains the light.

Here's to the beginning, that fateful moment in time,

When we started on our journey, not knowing what we'd find,

Here's to the love that we found, and continue to share,

Here's to us, knowing that our love will always be rare.

    The Many Forms of Pain

    Pain isn't always in tears,

Sometimes it's also present in smiles,

    An unnerving sense of emptiness,

That can reach for miles and miles.

It starts off as a tiny sting,

A signal of something gone wrong,

    And then it reverberates,

Until it echoes into a song.

    Every person has felt it,

    In their own unique way,

A pain that can't be seen,

    But lingers day by day.

    ––––––––

    Some try to mask it,

With a smile on their face,

    But deep inside they're fighting,

A battle at their own pace.

It's the pain of lost love,

So hard to put in words,

    The grief of missing someone,

Who once made life a blur.

    It's the pain of insecurity,

That keeps you up at night,

The fear that you're not enough,

    That somehow you're not right.

    It's the pain of disappointment,

When things don't go as planned,

    A reminder that we're human,

    And sometimes we just can't.

    It's the pain of regret,

When we look back on our past,

And wish we'd made different choices,

That were destined not to last.

    It's the pain of illness,

    A body that betrays,

    A constant reminder,

Of a fight that never fades.

    It's the pain of loss,

When a loved one is no more,

The ache that fills your heart,

    And never leaves your core.

It's the pain of mental strife,

    The anxiety and the pain,

That takes ahold of our thoughts,

    And drives us all insane.

It's the pain of being lonely,

    Of feeling all alone,

    A hole that's left unfulfilled,

Of needing a place called home.

We all have our own struggles,

And our own pains to bear,

    But we're never alone,

We all have someone who cares.

The world can seem so dark,

When pain is all we see,

But out of the ashes of our pain,

    Comes a new opportunity.

    We find strength in ourselves,

And in those around us too,

We come to realize that pain,

Is what we sometimes go through.

But pain isn't always a bad thing,

It helps us grow and learn,

And if we embrace it with grace,

It's a pain that will not burn.

    So let us stand together,

In the face of our despair,

And know that pain will pass,

    And love will remain there.

    Fixed Vision

A lot of things broke my heart but fixed my vision,

The pain and sadness that crept in without permission,

The tears I cried that seemed to never dry,

The weight on my shoulders that made me wonder why.

First, it was the loss of a loved one,

A person so dear, now forever gone,

The void they left behind, impossible to fill,

The grief I felt, so surreal.

But in their absence, a lesson was learned,

That life is fleeting, like a wave that's churned,

And that we must cherish each moment we're given,

And value the relationships that make life worth livin'.

Next, it was the end of a relationship,

A love so strong, now just a sinking ship,

The hurt and betrayal that cut so deep,

The loneliness that made it hard to sleep.

But in that pain, a discovery was made,

That self-love is something that cannot be swayed,

And that it's better to be alone and happy,

Than to be with someone who makes life feel crappy.

Then, it was the failure of a dream,

A goal so big, now torn at the seam,

The disappointment that took me by surprise,

The frustration that seemed to paralyze.

But in that setback, a realization was gained,

That failure is not the end, only a change in the terrain,

And that success is not just about reaching the top,

But the journey we take, and the lessons we stop,

For in these broken moments, we find our strength,

We rebuild ourselves, no matter the length.

So, a lot of things broke my heart, it's true,

But through the cracks, my vision grew,

I learned to see the beauty in life's imperfections,

And found the power in resilience and reflections.

In each shattered piece, a new perspective formed,

A stronger, wiser heart that can weather any storm,

So, let the pain and heartbreak be your guide,

To a vision of life where you'll thrive and not hide.

    A Journey Worth Taking

Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.

A notion known well to those who have fought, who have persevered,

Those who have journeyed on, with their hearts full of ambition.

    A path that tests, that tries, that challenges;

But always rewards those who remain steadfast and focused.

As I set out on this road to triumph,

I know that there will be challenges ahead,

Moments of doubt, of fear, and of worry,

But I will push through, with my heart full of fire and grit.

For every failure, every stumble, every setback,

Is a step closer to victory, a step closer to greatness.

And I will not let the weight of defeat bring me down,

But rather I will use it as strength, as a reminder,

That I am capable of more than I ever thought.

For it is in our moments of struggle,

That we find our true potential,

That we discover our strength and resilience,

And that we become more than we ever thought possible.

So I will take each setback with open arms,

Welcoming them as opportunities, as blessings in disguise,

For they will make me stronger, wiser, and more determined,

And they will propel me forward towards the success that awaits.

And when I finally reach that sweet victory,

I will know that it was earned, fought for, and well-deserved,

For success is not about the destination,

But about the journey, the effort, the perseverance.

So let us not fear failure, but embrace it,

Let us not shy away from challenges, but face them head-on,

For it is in these moments that we find our inner strength,

That we discover our true potential,

And that we make the road to triumph,

    A journey worth taking.

    Triumph of the Willing

Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay its price

For those who will climb and fall, get bruised and sacrifice

Those who will keep going, strive and never give in

Who know that the prize is worth all of the spin

For every victory won, there were sleepless nights and pain

There were hours of training and endless days of strain

There were moments of weakness and times of doubt

But the willing kept pushing, striving to whittle it out

It takes grit and determination to mold our fate

It demands we get up again when we take a fall

The path to victory is long and riddled with traps

At times it seems like hope is gone, and our energy saps

It's easy to give up, to walk away and say it's not meant to be

But true captors of victory find strength in the will to see

For there is something magical in the human spirit

When we dig deep within, we find courage and merit

We rise above obstacles, and we conquer all fears

We hold onto our belief, and we wipe away the tears

For when we're willing to pay the price of victory

When we take on the challenge with steadfast unity

We become more than we were before, stronger in our core

We become warriors of our fate, seeking an open door

So if you aspire to be a champion of your life

If you want to experience the thrill of cutting through strife

Know that victory is reserved for those who are willing to fight

For those who take on challenges with all their might

They embrace the journey, they never compromise

They keep their eyes on the goal, and they remain steadfast
