About this ebook
A collection of poetry which defines the third installment of a quest and confirmation of spiritual journey. To share these thoughts, trials, enables me to move further forward; and I will, therefore, not travel alone.
Fegger
Rich Jax (aka 'Fegger') resides with his wife, Terry, and four of his five children (fifth being in college), in the quaint New England town of Brooklyn, CT. He began his writing aspirations at the age of 11, penning poetry, song lyrics and short stories. He published his first poem at age 14 (defrauding the contest rules by embellishing upon his age and credentials). While attending college, University of Wisconsin--LaCrosse, a mentoring English Professor, Dr. Jay Norris, submitted collections of Rich's poetry (unbeknownst to him) to a regional literature publication and the University's magazine; and his work attained the cover and feature submissions in both publications simultaneously. Until recently, Rich has refrained from publishing any of his contemporary or archived writing efforts; and, only now, is beginning to trickle a diverse body of work to the public that includes: poetry, short stories, songs (lyrics and music), children's books/stories, and editorials. As time and solace dictate, he aspires to complete two novels, Clay and Empty Sails, which have remained as unfulfilled projects for decades.

Foreward
FaithQuest, as the title would imply, is a lifelong journey toward an affirmation of that which seems intangible or beyond cognitive validation within the confines of our contemporary passage. Within this collection, Collection III, I have assembled certain works that are intended to be exploratory to the reader, co-seeker. I have rejoiced in discovering the purest of spirits who, by intent or accident, have nurtured their indigenous spirit toward fulfillment; and I have scorned those who have sought to neglect such communion and choose to strive to become their own god instead. There is sadness and there is joy; but, above all, there exist elements of unwavering faith and the sincerest desire to become whole and complete. This Quest, laden with trips, traps, and detours remains unmapped, yet not unchartered. It is a constant and continuous discovery of self and extended self; and is often a curious child who questions as to whether, or not, he has been abandoned or disregarded. It will be a tireless Quest, for me, to only be answered on the advent of the passage that follows.
This Collection is dedicated to my Father, the Teacher, and my Mother, the Nurturer. Without their selfless
Dedication, Love, and Respect my journeys would be interminable.

All things I never was,
Or never meant to be--
Write these on a paper boat,
And send them out to sea.
All that I’ve endeavored,
Conquered, or I failed--
Hoist these high to hold the wind--
Use them as the sail
Puppeteer
He stands, disheveled, upon his stage
Where mast’ry once performed;
Hidden from the crowds that raged,
His name in honor, worn.
Paint peeling from the scenery now,
That he, himself, conceived;
In bringing life to lifeless, bows,
For scripts he can’t retrieve.
Fumbling with thick fingers tied,
Strings severed at the ends;
As characters
