Reading and Listening
Reading and listening to the best words that was ever written in the Bible is called good sense. It says, Do not conform yourself to things of this world but by the renewal of your mind, so like the Father, which is good, acceptable, and perfect.
Let us not be anxious about anything. Don’t be influenced by others or group pressure. Remember, obedience is greater than sacrifice or behavior that occurs as a result of other influence no matter what the nature of the influence. Accepting opinions of others, admiration of a group, direct pressure may be good or sometimes bad. Stick to your own opinion and beliefs.
God gave us what we need, and the final analysis is up to us.
A Good Listen
When you are finished reading these paragraphs, decide if you are a good listener. If not, follow these instructions.
It has been written that one should be fast to listen and slow to speak. When we follow or implicate these laws, it gives one the ability to move forward (in becoming successful), not necessarily a trait that one was born with but a skill natural artist learned from life’s experience (can be acquired by all). When paying attention, we make a conscious effort to hear what is being said, not just hearing but also being attentive by paying special attention. In such instance, we absorb information by analyzing through an open mind. Let us remember our ability, not just the surface but in depth, which calls for us to examine or analyze. Never settle for firsts advice or even your own first decision. Research until you’re satisfied with the decision.
Listen to everything that is said, and you are bound to learn. Everyone has something to give in that way of communication, whether something innovative or something you are aware of, or it could be a stimulation of your mentality.
To listen along with our personal thoughts are our relationship with God that no one can control.
Remember the saying, the mind is a terrible thing to waste
because of our God-given ability that we have. Let us learn that acquiring information of knowing is by factual means. When learning something, it is not forgotten easily verses when merely hearing. Yet we are capable of forgetting. I’ve learned that visual learning works wonders by way of taking mental pictures or even reading by visuality. Try associating, relating one thing to another. That’s more or less the same or very similar.
I will admit I have been guilty of such, hearing and even not hearing. Not to mention being aware of the importance of learning the strategy in order to achieve my goal. When hearing and not hearing, words pass through the mind, not being able to memorize or to retain what was said. Sometimes this problem can be caused by poor diet (lack of vitamins) or some medications. In my case, I learned it. It was a matter of not focusing, not knowing the importance of strategizing. When focusing our attention on something, it means we concentrate when thinking. It also help to deal strictly with the one subject or topic at that particular time.
How good are you at focusing your attention on something? Well, just in case you are not conscious of such, get started. You’ll be amazed at how it will brighten your horizon. Your mental perception will broaden extremely. You will especially become more interested in reading. The purpose of reading is to learn facts, gain knowledge, to associate thoughts or ideas to what you are already familiar with.
Let’s learn to concentrate more. It means we have the ability to focus on whatever we choose to do. When doing so, we learn to think in depth, become a critical thinker (skill). A critical thinker is one who has the ability to think clearly enough to rationalize what to do or believe about a situation. Also one who can understand logic connected with ideas. Let’s work at training our minds to improve our mental status.
Once we learn to exhibit these strategies, we’ll be more complete as an individual. Our ability to listen along with personal thoughts are our relationship with God.
This particular chapter is dedicated mainly to one’s that are striving to educate themselves. Whether high school, college, or universities, I urge you to read the lyric in these paragraphs, strive for excellence. Listen with strategies and with an open mind!
Good luck!

Don’t be disturbed or distracted by others
Do not interrupt the speaker
Be attentive to every word that’s spoken
Try visualizing to understand what the subject is about or what is being said
When giving others our undivided attention, it gives a sense of feeling important
Always be willing to listen unconditional
Purpose
One’s purpose of reading should not only be attempting to read words but to explore what we have read in depth. Also compare that to what has been read or to the knowledge we already know. Do research on what you have just read and what you already know. In all that one does, be the very best that you can be. Never settle for less. It may take a lot of effort, sometime going over and beyond. Believe me, in all your effort, I promise it will be well worth it.
When reading, it tends to enlighten our abilities to relate to others by way of communication and by conversating. We also learn to understand others more clearly by their expressions and emotions.
Demonstrating Inability to Listen
Have you ever been in the company of someone who never seem to listen due to the fact that they usually know everything?
Well, have you ever heard the expression, Stop the world? I want to get off.
In such a case, you may as well check out if there is nothing else to be learned. I’m here to tell you one should never cease to learn. We can never know too much. There is always space for more or improvement!
Learn to be enthusiastic about others. You may be surprised when becoming interested in what they have
