The title reflects many nights that I had to slow down and evaluate things. I was affected by the flood of 2016 in Louisiana. When a life experience of dramatic proportion hits you, just like in baseball, you take first base. Once you get there, you have to evaluate if you're staying put, or will you steal a base or two? Everyone's objective in life is to make it home one way or another. Me? I am taking second base and going for more.

When the night dies and day rises, it is not that one ends and another begins. It is that there is a start and a finish to all things. A beginning and end, lost then found, there we are always unbound.

When does the moon hide from the night sky? Where does the noonday sun dance and have some fun? We look for signs in the sky above. That is when peace comes down in the form of a dove.

Does the sign also shine? For the love that comes is so divine.

It came for us all, just in time. When a man’s heart is just like the night, if he only believes, it too shall rise and take flight. It shall not be his end; that is when his eternal life will begin.

All men have a day and a night, knowing when a man starts and finishes are both Night and day, when he is done it is but just one. For as a man lives and breathes, his dawn—is both a night and a day, and his evening is a start and a finish. Then he must go his way.

As long as his heart believes, it is the divine love that he will see. For when a birth came in the middle of a certain night, it proclaimed a death That would give us all a most certain divine life.
