Always Give God the Praise for His Mighty Miracles

I've always loved to tell stories and write poems, and so did my mother, Fay Elizabeth Jeffers. In her memory, I'm putting a verse from Psalms with all the miracles I write about. The book of Psalms was mother's favorite.

Mother loved to read the book of Psalms. After my dad died, my husband and I stayed all night with her. She wanted to read Psalms. She read a few verses, I read some, and so did my husband. I think we read the whole book before we went to bed.

Miracles still happen today.

Chapter 1

Mother's Salvation

The first miracle that happened in my life happened before I was born.

It was when my oldest sister was a baby. I don't know how old she was, but for some reason, she stopped breathing. Grandma (on my dad's side) picked her up and walked the floor praying, and life came back into her little body.

Mother told me that was when she gave her life to Christ. She raised us children to love and fear God. Mother didn't have anything but the necessities of life, but she would feed anyone who came to our house, even if it was just pinto beans, biscuits, and gravy. She was known for her biscuits.

Wow! That miracle set the path of our lives as a family. The miracle story and Christian example was then passed down to our generation and, hopefully, on to the next generations until Jesus comes to take us all home.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever.

—Psalm 145:21

I See God

Flowers all around, with shades of pink, purples, and blues.

Trees with their branches that spread, with leaves in deep green hues.

The water that reaches out in its vastness, as if it touches the sky.

I view it all and marvel at the breathtaking beauty; with joy, I sigh.

God is all around us as he paints a wonderful view.

He wants his children to be happy—that is me and also you.

He finishes every picture with traces of enduring love.

This is the way our Father is as he looks down from above.
