About this ebook
Greatly Blessed, Highly Honored is about God's saving grace, love, and mercy. I gave my heart to the LORD when I was five years old. I love the LORD. He has walked with me daily. I have always had great faith. My motto is "Nothing is Impossible with God." He was my Protector during the days of child abuse. He kept me safe when an elderly couple tried to kidnap me at the age of seven. He was my comforter when I lost my precious grandson at the young age of twenty-four, my parents, and three brothers. But I have the great promise of seeing them again someday. He has healed my body so many times. He has done all of these, not because of who I am, but because of who he is. The LORD gave me the title for this book he wanted me to write. I truly feel I have been Greatly Blessed, Highly Honored.

This is for my wonderful dad, Rev. Clint Kinney, of Eaton, Maine. My dad, my best friend, and preacher of the Gospel for sixty years, preaching his last sermon, Jesus, The Light of the World,
at the age of ninety. He was blind by that time, yet he preached a mighty sermon that Sunday morning.
He taught me at a very young age to put my trust in God—through faith and prayer nothing is impossible with God. He was right, and I have proven this over and over again in my own life.
I have always dreamed of my dad having a beautiful study with lots of shelves full of reference books, good lighting, quiet and peaceful. What he did have was a small bedroom off the kitchen. There he would kneel and seek the face of God for his next sermon and pray for his family and the church family. He would do this with five kids playing just on the other side of the door. We tried to be quiet but sometimes we forgot.
In the summer I sometimes saw him try to find a quiet place by studying in the car. My brother Dean loved to fish. Dean would be in the front of the boat, and Dad would be in the back with books all around him studying, he found a peaceful place out on the water.
Although he never had that beautiful study I always dreamed of him having, he preached some mighty sermons and led many to the saving grace of God. My dad was an old-fashioned preacher who spoke straight from God’s Word, and he lived what he preached. His beautiful study was a little bedroom, a car, and a boat.
Dad, you were like a tree planted by the water; your roots went deep. When the storms of life came, when the storm clouds gathered, the thunder rolled, and the lightning flashed even when death took two of your sons, you stood straight and tall, never bending, never swaying. You put your hands in your Savior’s hands and stood fast, because you knew the Master of the wind, and the Maker of the rain. Your anchor held strong in spite of the storm.
My dad went to Heaven at the age of ninety-one. Now he is with all his loved ones gone before him enjoying all the wonders of Heaven.
Thank you, Dad, for your influence in my life, for your wisdom, and for all your love. I can’t wait for that great reunion when God calls me home! I miss you.
Love, your daughter,
Joan
Acknowledgments
True friends are like diamonds, precious and rare.
Marilyn Taylor, Marilyn Allen and Paula Brown,
I couldn’t have done this without all of your help. May the Lord richly bless you.
Thanks to my wonderful husband, Winston, for his support.
There are those who may be shocked to hear of the years of silent suffering in my life, but there are people all around us suffering in silence.
We in the church, especially, need to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance, so that people are safe to seek help and comfort.
Without taking off the mask we hide behind, and being honest in a place of safety, we can never be the people the Lord intends us to be.
Let us all be the heart and hands of Christ.
Thank You Lord for your guidance and wisdom!
Thank You to all who have bought this book and are reading it now.
I pray it will be an encouragement to you!
The Promise of Revival
One Sunday morning in church, one of the deacons was praying. The pastor asked him to pray for different things, and one of them was revival.
When he said the word revival,
I had a vision: The Lord took me from my seat down the road to the end of Kinney Road to Route 1. The road was full from side to side with this huge multitude of people with flames coming off the backs of their heads and shoulders. Everyone was running.
We came to the Baptist church first and it caught on fire, and everyone came out to join the vast multitude of people. They were on fire with flames coming out of their heads and backs.
The Episcopalian church was next. Again, the church caught on fire, and everyone came out and they were on fire.
Next was the Methodists. Their church caught on fire, and the people came out and they were on fire. And they joined the great multitude of people who were running.
The Catholic church was next on the right. The church caught on fire, and the people came out on fire. They, too, joined this great multitude of people.
By this time, we were almost through Mars Hill.
When the deacon got done praying, he said,
