Chapter 1
I Need My Truth
Dear Truth,
Greetings and salutations,
I’ve been waiting
To hear from you.
Every time I try to connect,
I don’t get through.
I’ve been feeling concerned;
Plus, I really miss you,
Especially with
All we been through.
I reached out a few times
When everyone ignored you;
I got no answer.
I don’t know what to do:
How can I live without you?
I can’t live without my truth.
The best of me,
It is based on you.
The few times we spoke
Over the last few weeks
Felt so insincere.
It was way too brief.
I said my piece
And got no response.
I know you say it’s
Not my fault.
If I’m being honest,
I feel like my
Integrity has been bought.
I caught them
Ignoring you,
And I said nothing.
I’ll be honest.
This is hard to stomach.
They should show respect
When they see you coming.
Instead, they just
Turn their heads
And watch you plummet.
There is no excuse,
No time to be humble
I’ve got to take this stand.
This separation between
You and I,
I will no longer stand.
