Flying Free with My Wonder Soul. A journey toward inner peace through food, movement, Mother Nature, self-love and service. - Arlene Tribo

    Epilogue

This book is primarily for my own learning and healing. It goes hand in hand with my belief of using the art of self-expression. I believe that when our lives are unexpressed, our Soul suffer.

So here I write this book. An expression of setting ‘Her, my Soul’ free to wonder.

It is also a medium for my son Hayden and his children (if he decides to have them) so they may capture an overview of what values I stand for.

I write this book with honesty.  A journey toward inner peace through food, movement, self-expression, reconnecting with Mother Nature, self-love, and service. I had intentionally written with authenticity so that while reading this book, you may identify encouragements and real-life issues which I hope would stir up emotions to then discuss these issues with others.

So what if the whole world knows. There's an exponential rise in all kinds of autoimmune disease. Even 7-year-olds have RA (rheumatoid arthritis). This book is also a message to let them know that they are not alone. We find peace and freedom when we own our truth. An inner medium that allows us to expand our reality. A reality that has given me plenty of opportunity to keep working.

Because everything in our Planet is ever evolving, including science, our bodies, food systems and our consciousness, for me, it is important to have a continuous learning journey about my inner self and RA.

The old truth was true then. I accept the challenges of where I am. How can I evolve now?

    What is RA anyway?

It is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease. The course of RA is variable, but for a substantial proportion of patients it is characterized by persistent pain and stiffness, progressive joint destruction, functional disability, and pre-mature mortality (1).

I don’t normally talk to myself this way, though, when I was diagnosed, I thought:

Gees, that is some serious shit. I’m fucked.

So what do I do now?

We may find some solace in the following quote:

‘’If there was fire, put the fire out first and then plant some trees. ‘’ (2)

One of my favourite words is Genesis. To me it means the root. When we understand and accept the root causes, then it’s a good start.

When we then allow ourselves to be distracted, perhaps through denial, we move away from genesis and end up doing nothing. When we simply accept what is put in front of us, in many cases I’ve seen, take the easy route to merely supressing the symptoms long term.

    A Holistic Approach to Life

I’ve written this book in four different parts to include as much of ourselves as a whole:

    Internal Body

    Open Mind

    Big Heart

    Wonder Soul

I sincerely ask that you do not compare your experiences to mine or anyone else. Comparison is a tool that only allows shame to oneself. We are unique only to our self. So too, are the generations of microbiome in and out of our bodies. So, I encourage you to find your own healing experience, at your own pace and allow joy in your own journey.

Recipes from Hayden’s House Food and Produce

A poetry and prose book with recipes? Hell yeah! I dare to be different. In fact, if you call me weird, I smile because now I’ve got your attention and I’ve the opportunity to quietly strategize for you to open your eyes and mind.

Done differently is better than perfect!

    Disclaimer

It does not guarantee any kind of improvement in your health.  The book is only a form of self-expression of my experience with RA and my life in general. Light Come Near You

    RA burns.

Life seems to quickly burn too.

    While my eyes moisten.

Now I accept what injures me.

They are also what injures other living things.

    The plant kingdom.

    The animal kingdom.

    Our soil.

The generations of microbiome that churns every 20 minutes in our bodies,

    They are injured too.

    It’s a big job.

    To fix them all.

    Perhaps not.

When we start fixing one, it fixes another.

Our species and all other kingdoms are interdependent.

So, which fire of yours are you putting out first?

Or is it easier to keep injuring ourselves?

Somehow, we think we deserve it.

Because we are afraid to come face to face with our Soul.

    Can a Soul be burned?

Or is it our ego that starts the flame?

Which part of us can put out the fire?

Will our Soul then plant the seeds for us to grow?

    Light come near you.

    It doesn’t need to.

It is already seeped deep within you.

You do not need to be ready.

Just begin, with wondering your Soul free!

    Part 1: Internal Body

My Story is Our Nature’s Story

    #autoimmune_disease

Type 1 diabetes, Crohn’s, celiac, MS, just to name a few.

A condition where our immune system attacks specific parts of our body from the inside.

    #rheumatoid_arthritis, in short RA.

Where my immune system attacked every joint in my body,

Including the joints in my jaw.

    Eat through the straw.

My joints were so sore and tight,

I felt I needed to break out and thaw.

Have to crawl to the toilet kind of pain.

Cannot hug my child Hayden tight enough kind of pain.

Cannot make love to my Hon kind of pain.

My sister emailed me a research article.

What? Vegan? No way! No cheese!

Now that’s a real kind of pain!

I ignored the article for 2 years.

Until finally, I hit the wall.

There was no one else I could call.

Except myself, you know, that one with the capital S.

Soon enough the signals came. I started making wholefood plant-rich food.

You mean there’s 10,000 varieties of fruits and vegs to choose from?

    Nachos with sour cream.

    Fritters with sour cream.

And oh, that one that my son gobbled down

    – Feijoa ice cream.

Us Kiwis have made Feijoa our own but they’re actually native to Southern Brazil.

Brazilian Kiwi? Now you’re eating something darn delicious and sexy.

8 weeks, 12 weeks, by the time end of October came,

I felt so free, I found my feet running along 10,000 other feet

On top of the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

I begged my rheumatologist to take me off meds.

    He said no.

I moved to Melbourne, my new rheumatologist,

    Well, she said no.

She then said, your dose is so low now,

It’s the same dose I give to my 7-year-old patients.

    Wait, 7-year-olds have rheumatoid arthritis?

Type 2 diabetes used to be called adult-onset diabetes.

But they had to change its name because so many kids are diagnosed with it.

    What’s going on?

Is there even a point in turning the TV on?

I read a lot about the roots of my defect, the roots of our food.

The spirit inside of me is celebrating.

    She’s unscrewed the cork.

    Because #mydefect,

Has become my service and my work.

Zach Bush MD is my favourite man.

A profound pioneer in the science of environmental health and well-being.

I thought I understood autoimmune condition 10 years ago.

Zach’s appearance in Rich Roll Podcast (3) brought bright light to me only 2 months ago.

The following are how I interpreted it.

That the essential amino acids inside our body are like the 26 letters in the alphabet.

9 of those letters can only be from plants.

The way we have been eating and growing food conventionally has altered our self-identity as human beings.

The pesticides, chemicals, and antibiotics we have been ingesting through our food have turned us into leaky sieves.

Not just our gut, but all our
