About this ebook

Father, Son & Spirit - talking with the Triune God.  God reveals himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Each of the three are distinct, and yet they are One God.  Scripture reveals that the Father adopts us, the Son atones for us, and the Holy Spirit animates us.  As we settle in his presence, hearing his Word, responding to him in conversation, his intent is that we grow to know him ever better.  These 31 days of prayer have been created as a path toward that end.   Each day is an opportunity to respond to God because of what he reveals in his Word about himself.

This prayer book is unusual.  If you have used a devotional, you know that, normally, we read it and we're done.   Our hearts may or may not connect with what we've read.  But these 31 days of Praying His Word are not designed for passive reading.  If you have used other books in this "Praying His Word" series, you'll notice that this one is a little different. Each day there are three short passages of Scripture - one each on the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.  Then there are three reflective questions designed to interact with the three Scriptures.  The result is a springboard to prayer.

The reflective questions make all the difference.  That's where the Holy Spirit works.  He takes these passages of the Word of God and begins to move in our hearts.   Then, as we ask ourselves the reflective questions with an attitude of openness to the Holy Spirit's promptings, we discover a more honest awareness of our own hearts, its needs, its desires.  We see more clearly into the character and goodness of God.  And then, by the work of the Spirit with the Word, we find ourselves wrapped into a richer appreciation of God himself and his care for us.
