Her work with the Department of Defense, in her role as social worker, included working with military families in the areas of domestic violence and child abuse. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Morgan State University, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning, and a Master of Science Degree in Human Services with a Specialization in Social and Community Services from Capella University.
Deborah is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Deborah lives in Beaufort, South Carolina. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother. Deborah is a member of Lighthouse Christian Center, Beaufort, South Carolina, where she serves in her capacity as a licensed minister. On occasion, Deborah facilitates the church Bible study. She also serves as women’s fellowship leader in her church and head usher of the church usher ministry. She believes her calling in God’s service is that of teaching. Her desire is to teach, especially women who have been abused either physically or emotionally. In this aspect of her call to teach, Deborah believes that she is to embolden and empower women in their Christian faith and God given abilities, gifts and talents for service in God’s kingdom.view less
