About this ebook
In So What, Why So: A Guide to Logical Speaking, an audio course from Scribd Coach, award-winning TEDx speaker and coach Natsuyo Lipschutz teaches listeners how to use logic as a tool of persuasion while speaking. Rejecting the notion that logical speech is dry, cold, and boring, Lipschutz takes a holistic approach to speaking, with a special focus on her Breakthrough Method™, the principle of “So What, Why So,” and a nine-step structure to help take the persuasion of your speaking and writing to the next level. She also shares exercises along the way so you can put what you’ve learned into practice.
Whether you’re a regular speaker or just getting ready for that big presentation, Lipschutz’s course is an original, rigorous look at logic’s relationship to persuasive speech.

Introduction

a course from Scribd. Thank you for joining me. Let’s jump right in.

.
What if I tried passionately to convince you, saying:
"If you love cakes like I do, but you also want to lose weight, you don’t actually need to give up cake! In my experience, I’ve gained weight from the stress of NOT eating cakes; stress is the enemy of weight loss! I ate a cake the other day and, the next day, I lost weight! So the cake diet works!"
What are you thinking in your head? At best, you might ask: How did she come to that conclusion?
or What’s the point she’s trying to make?
or say something like: That’s interesting, but I’m fine with my same old way
