Walking With God - Rev. John Eugene Miller

    Walking With God

I have the daily practice of reading one Psalm and one Proverb since 2007 and it has helped me more than anything one thing with my spiritual growth. I find it better to do the first thing in the morning before other activities.

I call this walking with God. My prayers will be short prompts to help you jump start your own prayers. I will relate these prayers specifically to the topic of forgiveness. In addition, to the 30 days of Psalms with a prayer prompt. I will list 30 days of selected passages of Proverbs. I will relate this verse to forgiveness. All scriptures listed in this book is the King James Version and copied from the gatewaybible.com

    Day 1: Psalms 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 1    But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 2    And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Prayer: Help me to meditate on your word and walk with you in the process of forgiving everyone who has ever hurt me.

    Proverbs 1:1-7

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; 2    To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding. 3    To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; 4   To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. 5    A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6    To understand a proverb, and the interpretation, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. 7    The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
