About this ebook

Prayers, Praise, and Promises is a unique form of devotional written from the heart of a devoted Christian. Within its pages the author lovingly pours out her heart in prayers, and praises for almost every circumstance that life in a temporal world can offer. Having lived a life of great suffering, the author is close in heart with the sufferings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. As a result she provides words of comfort and encouragement in all circumstances. As the Apostle Paul said in his second letter to the Corinthian Church, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ."

Topics You Will Find In The Prayers, Praise and Promises

    - The Holy Spirit: The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit from. To one is given the Spirit; to another the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge; to another faith; to another the gift of healing; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues… But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will." (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

-Reflection: What would Jesus have us do? Jesus wants us to be in the world, but not of the world…for this is not our home.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, which he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (James 1:12-14)

-Current Events: Prayers on what the Bible has to say about the destruction that is happening in our world today.

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of the times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure. (Isaiah 33:6)

-God’s Promises: For I am persuaded that neither death, not life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, not things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

-Inspiration & Praise: Be confident that God’s help is at hand.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

-Spirit & Truth: This Scripture covers the gift of the Holy Spirit, reincarnation, sanctification and hell.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8) But he shall say, I tell you, I know not where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity. (Luke 13:27)

HOW TO MAKE PRAYER YOUR OWN

Father, a long time ago I heard a very good sermon on praying. I don’t remember who gave it, but I do remember what it was about. The essence of the sermon was on how people grow weary of praying for the same things every day and every night. Our usual prayers consist of first thanking God for all our blessings and sometimes we name the ones we received that day and sometimes we name every one we can think of. Next, we pray for our family members, naming some, and sometimes naming all of them. Then we pray for our friends and their families, our church family and whatever problems we know they are having. Then we may pray for the world situation, the President, the war, the starving children, or the horrible things that took place in the news that day. By this time, we are overwhelmed with all the things that are to pray for and we feel saddened instead of joyful. So, the sermon I heard so long ago was on how to alternate prayer and turn Psalms into your own words.

For example: Take Psalm 64 and make it your own. This Psalm was a prayer to the Lord from David, to share his complaints. You could make this prayer your own by praying to stop terrorists from plotting evil:

Psalm 64: (KJV) Hear my voice, O God: listen to my prayer. Please preserve the life of our soldiers throughout the earth from wicked men and criminals. They cut them down with their sharp tongues; they aim their bitter words like arrows straight at the heart. They shoot from ambush at innocent men, women and children. They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding the snares; they say, and Who will see them? the terrorist plot injustice and say, We have devised a perfect plan! Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning. But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. All mankind will fear; they will proclaim thy works of God and ponder what He hath done. Let righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him, let all the upright in heart have glory. Amen!

(This does take some practice but just change the words while you are reading Psalm and make it more personal as it will be your prayer unto the Lord. Be blessed).

    ~ PRAYERS ~

This section includes daily prayers that I’ve written and prayed over a variety of situations, as well as ideas for topics to pray about and excerpts from God’s Word regarding prayer.

    Ten Vital Prayers

    1. We pray that the Holy Spirit will bless all God’s people and open the hearts of non-believers. (John 3:5-8)

    2. We pray that all Christians will read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. (Romans 11:33)

    3. We pray that our Jewish brother s and sisters will read both the Old and New Testament so they can fully understand God’s plan. (Psalm 19:1-3), (John 5:46-47)

    4. We pray that Muslims will read the Bible so they can fully understand the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and who The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are. (Ezekiel 36:26); (Galatians 2:20), (1 John 5:12)

    5. We pray that America will return to the teaching of the Ten Commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

    6. We pray that our government will return to the wisdom of our Forefathers. (Ezekiel 20:19)

    7. We pray that mystics, mediums, atheists, agnostics and all false religions will open their minds to the one and only God who created everything seen and unseen. (Hosea 13:4)

    8. We pray that people will understand that evil really exists; but it can be defeated through the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23), (Colossians 3:12-15)

    9. We pray that prayer is heard from the righteous and it is God who works through you. We are only the channel through which the Divine action takes place. Therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace; that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help us in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

    10. We know that pride comes before destruction, that God opposes the proud, that a proud heart is an abomination to the Lord; and that the wicked will seek after God and blessed is the man who trusts the Lord. (Isaiah 2:11-12). Amen!

    September 11, 2016 (911)

God Bless America! Dear Lord, please bless all those people who had family members that lost their lives in such a senseless horrible way. Comfort all those who mourn the loss of their loved ones. Our world has changed so drastically since then and Satan reins his evil around the world with lightning speed. As Christians, we know that evil exists and why...but we also know that you are Lord and God of the universe. We know that all we have to do is obey Your Word and walk in Your way, repent of our sins, and ask you to be with us...and you are there. May the Holy Spirit bless this day in spite of the evil that took place on 9-11. Amen and Amen!

    The Universe

Father, how can scientists be so divided on their beliefs regarding how the Universe was created? How can one think something came from nothing? When everything was formed in perfect design, not by chance. My heart cries out for all those folks who don’t see Your majesty and everything that you created. My soul aches for all the people who don’t feel Your presence in everything that was ever created. Abba open the hearts of those who don’t know you, who don’t love you, who are under the control of Satan. Lord have mercy, God have mercy! Amen!

    God of the Universe

O Lord there is no way under the sun that man can fully understand Your ways. As believers, we know Your Word from the Holy Bible. From our faith, we know who you are. From our soul, we feel Your prescience. From our heart, we love you and know you love us. We have faith in who you are and why we are here. We believe Your Word and many times understand the Scriptures. But as mere human beings we can’t fully grasp the full meanings. However, we will never doubt you Abba. You laid out the knowledge of Your Kingdom on our hearts before we were born. However, we are just human and have much to learn. You are the creator of everything seen and unseen. We do not need proof out Your existence. We can’t see angels but we know they are there. We can’t see you, but we know you are there. Abba, we will never doubt you are the Lord God of the universe and beyond…no doubt ever. You are God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and everything that was or ever will be. Seen or not seen. Amen!

    Miracle of the Universe

My Lord, the Bible says that God created heaven and earth in the first sentence

The Word tells us that everything He made was through His transcendence

The sun rises and sets in a twenty-four-hour span

This is God’s design and plan for man

The ocean depths and tides create gases to allow civilization

The stars and constellations were mapped for navigation

The planets are set in perfect precision

The galaxies are perfectly placed in the universe

The rain drops and clouds smother the earth at the Lord’s command

The Lord speaks and the snow falls covering the land

The earth spins at one thousand miles an hour supporting existence

The sun and moon make life on earth possible through precise distancing

The surface of the earth’s temperatures creates seasons

The earth orbits around the sun at sixty-five thousand miles

The scientists tell us life is the happenstance of evolution

The Bible tells us that God is the creator of all that is seen and unseen

Science is only a theory, but the Bible is God’s Word

Abba, we thank you for the beauty of Your magnificent planet earth. Everything seen is the work of Your hands. How great art thou Lord! Amen! Genesis 1:1

    Center of the Universe

Dear Abba, The only way we have managed to get through this world this long is with you. We know there are other people who don’t even believe you exist, and life is just a big bang theory. What we don’t know is how people cannot believe in YOU, the God of 6,000 years of history. The Christ, the Messiah! Whatever religion they believe in we know that you are as real as the air we breathe, the things we see, the things we touch, and the things our heart tells us are true. We will never understand the complexity of the scientific world or mathematics of the cosmos. We don’t have to Lord because we know you personally in our heart and soul. We have never doubted who you were from the time I was born when you saved my life from birth to my golden years that I have struggled through. All the trials and tribulations that I have gone through…all the mistakes I have made…through the good times and through the nightmares of children waking up from an evil dream brought upon by Satan. We never doubted who you are. Thank you, Abba, for Your children that go through tough times and recognize that you are in the center of their universe. You are who you say you are, Abba, God Almighty Jesus Christ. Amen!

    Universe Created

Father! Many people believe the Universe was created by a big explosion. And I believe exactly what the bible tells us. It surely may have been a big explosion when God created every single star and planet and formed it all into this magnificent, incredible, beautiful Universe; and made the Earth for man and woman to plant and grow all the beauty that it holds. My heart cries out for all those folks who don’t see You, Your majesty or Your divine presence in everything that was created. Abba God, please open the hearts of those who don’t know you, who don’t love you, who don’t believe what is so clear because they are controlled by Satan. Lord, please have mercy on us! Amen!

    Something from Nothing

Father, many people believe there was a big explosion that created the Universe. How can one think something came from nothing? That everything was formed in perfect design and rearranged itself? My heart cries out for all those folks who don’t see
