About this ebook

What do you consider your pearl of great price: something very valuable, such as family, a special friend, or a certain prized possession like an heirloom?

There are many pearls of great price in Scripture. It can be a promise of God, a comforting psalm, a proverb about wisdom, or a scripture about this incredible, amazing, beautiful universe that our God created. Or perhaps it can be an entire chapter such as 1 Cor 13, detailing what unconditional love is. However, Jesus is the pearl of great price, and discovering him and accepting him into your life is matchless, priceless.

There are so many treasures of great price to be discovered in God's inspired word! Second Timothy 3 tells us all Scripture is God-breathed; it is his work of love to help and guide us through our lives, to prepare us for the awesome things he has awaiting us in heaven. Read the Bible, find the pearl of great price, and your own pearl or pearls, and learn to apply them to your life. That is living life at its very best!

    Preface

It wasn’t until I was in my fifties that I started reading the Bible. I had started watching TV preachers and teachers, intrigued that the Bible contained so much information about how to live life according to God’s will. I purchased my very first study Bible, which explained Scripture and how to apply it to your life. I never realized how rich, rewarding and enjoyable studying Scripture could be! The one I first purchased was the amplified version. After that I bought several other versions, such as the NIV, and read, and continue to read, each chapter in their different versions.

Scripture contains so many little gems, or pearls of great price! Matthew
