Frame Your World - D. Qwynn Gross

    Living

    Preface

Anyone can talk to God! The blessing in talking to God however is found in His response. God will always honor His written Word. Not only does God prove it in Genesis as He spoke to create heaven and earth, but He assures us that His Word must be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:10-11). For this reason, I encourage you to use God’s Word to pray. See other Scriptures below that speak to the efficacy of God’s written Word.

You can pray effectively. Take the time to know God’s will by reading your Bible. Therein you will glean the heart of God as well as gain a better understanding of God’s thoughts concerning areas in your life that you desire His attention. The more you know, the more you will be able to communicate, and the richer your fellowship with God will become.

The premise of the prayers found herein is from the following Scriptures:

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

    Hebrews 11:3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

    Genesis 1:1-3

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.

    Psalm 145:17-18

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

    Isaiah 55:11

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

    John 1:1-3

…The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

    John 6:63

…God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did…

    Romans 4:17

    Introduction

…By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 (NKJ)

The Word of God is the fundamental truth that serves as the foundation for effective prayer. Not only should it steer your approach in prayer, but it will also secure your answers when you pray. You can frame your world just as Hebrews 11:3 reveals how the worlds were framed from the beginning of time. If you will interact with God according to His Word, you will change your reality and take your prayer life to another level.

No matter who you are or what your background, as a believer in Christ Jesus, you have full access to the Creator of all things! When you accepted Jesus into your life, you were reconciled, that is, you were restored in relationship with the living God. You are no longer separated from God because of sin, but you are engrafted into His family, because of grace. God loves you, receives you, and cares about you.

Moreover, He yearns for you to come to Him. The prayer of the upright is His delight. (Proverbs 15:8) Which means, He wants to hear from you and talk to you!

He welcomes you, He receives you and He is ready to help you. Invite Him into your everyday situations! Not only will He be honored, but He will also respond by drawing near to you (James 4:8) because you will have demonstrated hope in Him.

From the Scriptures you are introduced to the God who does not sleep or slumber and who’s proven that there is no situation too trivial or complex that He cannot help you with or rescue you from. He is the same God yesterday, today and forever. As He interacted with Abraham, Moses, Elijah and countless others, He will speak and lead you.

Daniel 11:32 says, Those who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. That means you! You can know the God revealed throughout Scripture. You can effectively talk to Him and hear from Him. He is infinite, meaning limitless and boundless. He’s omnipotent, meaning all powerful. He’s preeminent, which means He surpasses all others, and He’s sovereign! And, with all of His strength and power, He is also the Father of compassion and the God of comfort, which means He cares enough about you to meet every need in your life.

    Note the following Scriptures:

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You! Psalm 84:11-12 (NKJ)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15 (NKJ)

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJ)

You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. Psalm 145:16-19 (NKJ)

These are just four of the wonderful promises that shed light on who God is and who we are in His eyes. Even more, they are the testimonies of countless people in Scripture who have interacted with God, as well as countless believers around you who have found these words to be true! I pray they ignite a desire and a confidence within you to pray because God is faithful to His Word!

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in thething for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJ)

For this reason, each prayer within this book is based on what the Bible says regarding the sentiment of your heart. In addition, Scriptures related to various topics, entitled, Professions have been included so that you may construct your own conversation with God.

Plenty of people pray but you can be one who connects with God by praying the Truth of God’s Word with anticipation. Simply identify the alphabetized need in your life and go to your Heavenly Father knowing that He will hear you.

    Abandoned

Father, be my keeper and preserve me today. Others have forsaken me but I choose to trust that You will take care of me and that You will not leave me. As You promised to relieve the fatherless and widow, and as You watch over the stranger, I pray that You would watch over Your Word to perform it in my life, and uphold me. According to Your Word, I am not an orphan but You have given me Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth as a comforter and guide. May I follow His leading and daily experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Draw near to me Lord and remember Your covenant of love. May I walk in the plans that You have for me and rejoice in Your salvation regardless of who is with me or against me. Heal my heart, and show me how to live free from hardness and cynicism. Let the truth of Your love settle and secure me so that I never doubt or question the love You have for me. You said that neither tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril nor sword can separate me from Your love, so Father, please anchor my soul in this truth and give me rest from any and all anguish of heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father, my only solution is to come to You for what some condemn and others justify. Today, I repent for my thoughts/decisions that have grieved Your Holy Spirit and I ask You to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Today, may I have the mind of Christ so that I am able to rightly discern and know Your will regardless of my own desire. Deliver me from the lie and set me free from the guilt, shame and condemnation that keeps me hostage to my past. Open the eyes of my understanding and intervene where I have trusted in wickedness and suppressed truth through unrighteous decisions. With humility, I ask You to receive what I did not and help me to rest on Your great goodness. Deliver me from the weight of oppression, lead me in the path of righteousness for Your own names sake and restore me in spirit, soul and body. I believe You are always with me—the imperfect. I believe that You are faithful even when I am faithless, and I trust You Lord to not just have mercy but to help me walk in the future and hope You have for me. Your unfailing love is my only confidence, so Father I cry out to You and ask that You lead me in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Accident

Father, what I’m facing is surprising but I’m coming to You because You know everything and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. Please give me secret counsel and wisdom to process and have peace. Holy Spirit, remind me of truth as the facts swirl and help me make decisions according to faith and not fear, by Your leading and not in haste. According to Your loving-kindness, forgive my negligence or role in this matter and deliver me from death and destruction. With the authority of Christ, I command every mountain removed and render every attack, scheme and plot of the enemy against my life, ineffective. Right now, I silence the internal and external voice of the deceiver and naysayer and I enlist the angels of God to work on my behalf. I release my faith to receive everything that pertains to life and godliness according to the power that works through me. I resist the way of doubt and overwhelm, and I trust You Father to be my strong deliverer! Your Word is my shield and buckler, and what the enemy meant for evil, I need You to turn around for Your glory. I plead the blood of Jesus and declare, grace, grace, and more grace as You perfect that which concerns me right now and in Jesus’ name! I believe and I receive Your intervention Father! Thank you Lord. Amen.

    Addictions

Father, my desire is to be free from any and everything that keeps me in bondage to the lust of my flesh, the lust of my eyes and/or the pride of life. The reality is, I am addicted to                               (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc.)                and I need Your intervention. I’m asking that You would remove the desire and the urge for those things that have come to kill, steal and destroy me. I repent for giving attention to everything that competes and distracts me from an allegiance to You, and I ask You to deliver me completely, today. I resist the strongman that keeps me bound to the lie and cancel
