Introduction

Many people sing the song, ‘Standing on the promises of God’ but whenever you ask them to quote some of those promises it becomes impossible. This has led me to put together some of them so as to help those in need.

The Bible contains thousands of promises, but very few will claim them, because very few know about them. The promises are verses of the Bible. They are the fuel for believing God in prayer and living a supernatural life in a disintegrating world. God's promises are his pledge to do or not do something. He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23). Not one word has failed of all his good promises (1 Kings 8:56). Heaven and earth will pass away but no iota; no dot of His word will not be fulfilled (Mat 5:18).

God has promised and He is not a liar. The Bible says let God be true, but every man a liar (Rom 3:4). If one believes with all their heart in the word of God (Logos) and speaks it, then it becomes a living word (Rhema).

This is a choice. I am strongly convinced though the world systems are putrefying. Though social, economic, religious, political and cultural issues are changing every day, we have a place of solace. We can run to the Father of all. His economy is intact. His religion never fails. His culture never changes. He is well able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can imagine or think.

Use this small book to your advantage. Carry Gods ‘Word’ with you in prayer and everywhere. Proclaim and affirm it day and night. Tie it around your neck and you will see much difference in your life.

Everything you need in this world and the world to come is in the word of God. Believe and affirm it daily. Make the best of this by picking every category according to your need.

There is nothing so powerful than when one stands before God with the two great terms, ‘You said’. Look at what Jacob is telling God in Gen 32:12 And You said, I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

You need to stand up in the promises of God to see many things in your life change for good. Some of the promises are conditional. They start with the word if. There are those which are open too. We need to be ready to receive all of them by doing our part as God does His.

This small book contains over 900 promises. They are arranged in categories and in alphabetical order to help you ponder each at a time. You can memorize a few and speak them as you go about your daily activities. They will rejuvenate you and fill you with hope and faith.

Ability

Authority over animals

The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that moves along the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are delivered into your hand. ~ Gen 9:2

Abrahamic blessings

I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing. ~ Gen 12:2 

I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who treats you with contempt. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you. ~ Gen 12:3

I will give this land to your offspring. ~ Gen 12:7a

Now, lift up your eyes, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for I will give all the land which you see to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count the dust of the earth, then your offspring may also be counted. Arise, walk through the land in its length and in its width; for I will give it to you. ~Gen 13:14-17

Look now toward the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them. He said to Abram, So will your offspring be. ~Gen 15:5

I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you. Advocacy

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. ~ Rom 8:34

My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. ~ 1Jn 2:1-2

Alert / Vigilant / Watchful

I will stand at my watch, and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. ~ Hab 2:1

Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts. ~ Prov 8:34

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them. ~ Lk 12:37
