INTRODUCTION

2 Timothy 3:16-17 16(KJV)

¹⁶All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

¹⁷That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

How refreshing it is to spend valuable time in the words of God. His words are always there for us to encourage, guide, comfort, inspire and bless us. Many times though, because of the busyness and challenges of our everyday lives, sometime we don't get the opportunity to read and meditate on the words of God as we would want to. However, many people will testify that the famous phrase, a verse a day keeps the devil away, is a reality in their lives and so we must make the extra effort to read as least one verse per day and keep the Spirit of God active in our lives.

God is our refuge, strength, keeper, strong tower, healer, provider, comforter, friend and the list could go on and on. We need him much more than he needs us. We depend on him much more than he depends on us and so as an appreciation of his love, let us read his words daily and draw closer to him as we do so.

JANUARY

Devotion: Exercising Our Faith

Romans 12:3(KJV)

³ For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

God has blessed us all with a measure of faith which if we would just put in action will bring us enormous benefits. Everything that the Lord has promised is true but we first need to act, in order to move God into action. Every good thing that we ever hope for is achievable. The first act of faith is to believe we have it or can do it, then make the effort to do it when God provides the way.

Our ability to believe, will determine our success or our failure. If we believe and exercise our faith in God's word, it will help us to overcome our past failures. When we believe in God's word, it paves the way to fulfil our God-given destiny.

This month, nurture those seeds of faith by dwelling on His Word. As you get the Word of God in your heart, faith will come to you. Faith will grow and strengthen in you. Faith will rise up in you and empower you to take hold of all the blessings God has for you
