Why did you write Loving Jesus: A 30 Day Devotional?

"Understanding God's Purpose for my life and walking in it is the key to a life of fulfillment and peace. Writing is a way for me to communicate with God. I can just stop for a bit and listen to Him do the talking. This devotional book is my prayers and praises to God. I have learned that praying the word of grace, and being thankful for the little and big miracles every day help me keep my eyes on God and on what is most important."

Where do you get your inspiration from?

"I've always loved to read Christian books about faith by such authors as Helen Steiner Rice, Darlene Deibler Rose, Neil T. Anderson and Andy Andrews. They help me to stay focused on what's important, to take my eyes off of the problems I am dealing with and to put my eyes back on God where they belong. "

Dedication

To my wonderful grandparents Dorothy and Everett Blankenship who are with Jesus now. They taught me so much about the love of God and faith that I will be forever thankful for them. I miss you both and can’t wait to see you again.

Introduction

When I wrote this devotional, I wanted an outlet for my poetry. I wanted to be able to share the messages that God has taught me over the years. It is often when I sit down to write that God speaks to me the most. I give every word to him who created all things.

Loving Jesus is a 30 day devotional that combines some of the poetry I’ve written over the years with scripture and a devotional writing for each day of the month. I wrote this devotional book in order to encourage, uplift, and challenge people in their walk with God. We all go through good times and bad times. It is through our trials and tribulations that we learn where our faith lies. It is when we get to the end of ourselves, that we discover who Jesus really is.

I pray that God will speak to you each day through this devotional.

All scripture quotations are from the NIV version of the Bible.
