You have to understand your own communications patterns, so that you can adjust for tendencies that might not be working in your favor. As you become more self-aware, you can take your communications to the next level by considering others’ personalities and the communications styles they favor.
#2
An experienced city treasurer in Florida was scammed out of $50,000 by a man impersonating the mayor. The FBI caught the criminal, who turned out to be some guy living in Florida, thousands of miles away.
#3
Understanding your own personality and communications style is important when dealing with others. It will help you become a better communicator and understand how others feel and think.
#4
Be aware of how you communicate with others, and take into account their personalities when devising a communication strategy. You may not always like how you communicate, but you’ll definitely respect others who do it differently.
#5
Communication is key. If you don’t understand your own communications tendencies, you won’t be able to understand others’, and that will leave you vulnerable to being influenced in undesirable ways.
#6
Teens are often too aggressive and take on challenges that they shouldn’t. If someone dares you to do something, take the bait and accept the challenge. The guy who dares you is testing your toughness.
#7
The DISC model is a psychological profiling tool that can help you understand how people communicate and how to better interact with them. It separates people into four groups, based on their communication styles: dominant (D), influencing (I), steady (S), and conscientious (C).
#8
The four personality types are: Extrovert, Introvert, Sensing, and Thinking. Extroverts are people-oriented, while introverts are focused on the task at hand.
