A Night at the Rainbow Rose - David Camily

    Chapter 1

The nightclub, called the Rainbow Rose, had a fascinating history. The building itself has been the center of controversy throughout its long life. First, it was built as a theater that showed adult films, and gods only knew what happened to the patrons in the dark. The second incarnation of the place had been a warehouse. But the third and most well-known was the Rainbow Rose. One of the oldest gay nightclubs in the country.

As Noah Easton walked up to the building, his defenses went up. So many people. Despite the fun atmosphere, Noah was beginning to wish he hadn’t agreed to this. But Ian had insisted, and here he was. He glanced at Ian, who towered over him at six foot seven inches. His dark-brown hair ran down sideburns to an almost full beard. Ian was the epitome of a teddy bear, despite his tall, creepy appearance.

I hear they plan on having a costume contest. I really should get my cosplay outfit finished. Ian glanced down at Noah with those gentle brown eyes of his. You doing okay?

Noah bit his lip. If I tell him no, it’s gonna ruin everyone’s night. Ian would take him right back to the farm. I’m fine. Really.

Okay, little bro. I’m watching you.

Thank you for that. People did tend to leave Noah alone whenever Ian was around. Most people tended to be more afraid of Ian because of his size. However, most people didn’t know how much of a marshmallow the man really was.

Ian pulled out his phone. It looks like Luke and Drake are already inside waiting for us. He stuffed his phone back in his pocket.

Big bro… Noah poked Ian’s side. I still can’t believe I let you talk me into this. You know how much I hate crowds.

We’re doing this for many reasons, little bro. We want to have a good time, have a few beers, dance, and talk to Luke and Drake about Daddy Mason.

I know, but Daddy James has only been gone for two or three years. I don’t think Daddy Mason is gonna be happy about this.

It’s for his own good. You know how depressed and lonely he’s been since James’s accident.

I think you are reading too much into this.

Oh, come on, Noah. You and I both agreed it was high time Daddy Mason found a new primary. And since he has not been very actively looking, it’s up to his loving cubs to do the right thing.

Noah sighed. He was right. Daddy Mason had been lonely too long. But what good was it changing Ian’s mind now? It was already decided, and Ian wasn’t a man to change his mind on a whim.

Noah and Ian inched up closer to the door. The bouncer, a jolly-looking, prominent bodybuilder with balled head, held up a hand to the man and woman standing in line in front of Ian and Noah. ID, please.

Do you have your ID with you, little bro?

Noah reached into his back pocket for his wallet. Here.

When their turn came up, Ian handed the bouncer both IDs. He studied them both closely. Okay, thanks. He gave them back and stamped both their hands. Have a good night.

    "Thanks.
