About this ebook

We have summarized the essential of this book by the author.

Galileo meets Andrea, an 11-year-old boy. Andrea holds up a large wooden model of the Ptolemaic system. Galileo explains that it is an "astrolabe", a device that shows how the stars rotate around the Earth, in the opinion of the Aristotelians.
Andrea observes that in the middle there is a small stone that represents the Earth, with eight rings around it, which are the glass spheres. Balls have been attached to the rings, which are the stars or stars. Walls, rings and immobility: for 2000 years man believed that the Sun and all the stars in the sky turned around him.
But Galileo hesitates, listens to rumors about the discovery of new continents, and is interested in explaining the cause of things: why the stone falls when it is released and why it rises when it is thrown upwards. What the Bible and the books of Aristotle say no longer works.
Now man must claim to see things for himself and not for what they tell him. Galileo will say that the Earth revolves around the Sun, that the universe has lost its center.

    GALILEO GALILEI

1 - Galileo Galilei, professor of mathematics in Padua, wants to demonstrate the validity of the new universal system of Copernicus

Galileo meets Andrea , an 11-year-old boy. Andrea holds up a large wooden model of the Ptolemaic system. Galileo explains that it is an astrolabe, a device that shows how the stars rotate around the Earth, in the opinion of the Aristotelians.

Andrea tells him that he sees, through his senses, that this is impossible, that the Sun is moving and that the Earth is still. Galileo tells him that looking is not observing. Observing is doubting what is seen, instead of taking it for granted.

Galileo moves a chair with Andrea on top, moving him to another sector of the room, taking a basin like the Sun. The Sun now appears on another side and has not moved. The chair represents the Earth and Andrea the man.

Andrea's mother arrives and reproaches Galileo for teaching the boy things from the devil. She tells him that the monks are protesting about it.

Andrea tells Galileo that if the Earth moved, he would have hung his head down all night.

Galileo explains that men do not notice the turn, because we also make the movement. Andrea then asks why he thinks that the one that moves is the sun.

Galileo says: "you see the Earth from below, it remains the same, it is always below and for you it does
