About this ebook

This is a new revision for 2022. The reason I wrote this book is to help you understand that whatever pain and suffering you may have gone through or are currently going through, when you have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ you are never alone. When we have pain and suffering this can give us a sense of loneliness. This loneliness can come from the feeling of being abandoned by God. But in actuality it's the opposite. As such, we come to understand that pain and suffering are part of the human experience. This is because we cannot know pain and suffering without knowing and comparing it to the lack of pain and absence of suffering. The state of one cannot exist without having a comparison to the state of the other.
In this book, we will explore how our pain and suffering can bring us closer to Christ.

When You Have Pain You Are Never Alone - Ken Kapreilian

    Introduction

When we have pain and suffering this can give us a sense of loneliness. This loneliness can come from the feeling of being abandoned by God. But in actuality it's the opposite. The Bible tells us the following.

⁸ Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:8-10)

The context of these verses should be understood that we can rely on God’s strength when we are weak and in pain (physical and or emotional). As such, we come to understand that pain and suffering are part of the human experience. This is because we cannot know pain and suffering without knowing and comparing it to the lack of pain and absence of suffering. The state of one cannot exist without having a comparison to the state of the other. This is how we must understand Christ’s suffering and the beatings that happened before His crucifixion on the cross.

What is God trying to teach me?

When we experience pain and suffering, it is helpful to understand what God is teaching us. He's teaching me to realize that we really have very little control over our life. He's teaching me that my relationships become more meaningful when circumstances change. He's teaching me the difficulties that are associated with what happens when other people watch you suffer. He's teaching me that you might want to give up but people might not want you to. He's teaching me that there is no easy answer to resolve this conflict. He's teaching me to understand that His strength is perfected in our weakness.

    Summary

There's an old saying that goes something like this,

Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to suffer before they die.

Well it just doesn't really work that way. Our suffering can bring us closer to God if we allow it. An example is if your pain gets
