    Introduction

Is There Another Way of Reading the Books of Moses? This book is to be enjoyed by someone who has a detailed understanding of the Pentateuch and who desires an academic analysis of this very important part of the Bible. It is written in a style that is designed to make you think and then by extension enhance your desire to study the Bible in detail.

The premise that I am expanding on in this book is based on the following paradigm; that most modern Bible scholars feel that the first five books of the Bible were not written entirely by Moses.  I am not the originator of this mode of thought (with acknowledgements to all others who have done research and written about this topic before me); although I do believe, it has merit and needs to be considered.

The concept of plagiarisms (and the associated penalties) also did not exist.

Certain group of people of the faith kept/preserved the scrolls of the Old Testament.

These scrolls were then edited/redacted and copied over many years.

When reading this book, keep those four previously mentioned points in mind. While I do agree that Moses was a significant author (as understood in the Old Testament mode of thought) of the Pentateuch, we can consider the possibility that Moses was not the sole author. So then is it possible to understand the phrase The Books of Moses, as it relates to the ancient tradition of that era,

by those seeking to obtain prestige or authority. Another possibility is that the Pentateuch has been written, In the spirit of Moses.

    Where I Stand

I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and nothing in this book brings that fact into question. I realize that the understanding of the Bible can
