INTRODUCTION

Why 40?

God flooded the earth for 40 days. The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Jesus remained on the earth 40 days after His resurrection. The number 40 has great spiritual value in the bible and is mentioned over 140 times. Forty represents a period of testing or a trial and is often followed by a breakthrough.

Application to your life

Daily we are faced with trials or testing. Sometimes we neglect to realize we are being tested in our attitudes, the way we respond to negativity and the priority we give to God. Trials will come, but I believe that God desires you to have your breakthrough and overcome the obstacles you face in life through His grace.

When we focus on the word of God and not the trial, we gain the strength and courage to go through, not stand in, our circumstances. Focusing on God minimizes the attention we give the trial and magnifies your heavenly Father who is in control of all. We aren’t denying that we may be facing ill health, debt, lost purpose or any other trial, rather, we are choosing to focus on the God of the universe who has promised to work all things out for good to those that love Him. Choose to focus on God and look in hope for your victory.

The great and precious promises of God are for every believer. They are for me. They are for you.
