CHAPTER ONE

A CRY FOR DIVINE HELP

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth Genesis 1:1. The history of mankind is hand work of God. The only fundamental source of help to mankind is therefore God Himself, as every other source is subject to God. Help starts and end with God. He is the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the ending.

It is good to start by defining what is meant by divine help. To say something is divine means it has heavenly connection. It is help that comes from God, our creator. It is a help that cannot be explained ordinarily. It means supernatural help that happens unexpectedly. It is when God made available all he has, available to you, so that you can achieve in life. Thus, He gives you assistance you need to achieve what you want.

It will be of help to ask question, who is God? As said earlier, God is the creator of heaven and earth, and what is in it. He is the uncreated creator. No one created Him. The book of John 1:1, 3 says, In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made

Who is God? He is omnipresent and omnipotent. He is present everywhere and every time. He is all powerful. Unto Jeremiah, He said, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? There is nothing too hard for God that is why we look unto him for help. With him nothing is impossible. He is the only one you can run to for help where you will not experience failure. The book of Psalm 91 says among other that, God is our refuge and our fortress. He can deliver us from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover us with his feathers, and under his wings shall we trust for hope, for safety, for joy and breakthrough. When one is under His cover, no other power can molest or defeat us. This is the reason we cry for divine help from the Most High God.

If God refuses to help, who can do it? When he says NO, it remains NO, and when He says YES, it remains YES. If He decides to look elsewhere, who can challenge Him? He is the last solution to our entire problem. In Him we find true security, and, protection, true joy and breakthrough. In Him we find good health and healing. This is the reason one should not put hope on men but God. The Psalmist says, Do not put your trust in Princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground, on that day their plans come to nothing Psalm 146:3-4.

When you are in search of help, freedom is expected. Divine freedom comes from God. When God dealt with your problem and challenges, it will be as if it was a dream. The fact is, those who oppose you shall be as nothing and perish. The promise of God to you in the book of Isaiah 41:12-13 says, Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you. Do not fear, I will help you".

The Lord Almighty is ready to help and set you free from every form of captivity. Verse twelve above says, Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them the Bible talk about your enemies. Your enemies here do not mean persons per see, but every challenge you face. It says, you shall find them no more. This is a divine assurance from the Most High God. What this mean is, you shall be set free from every form of captivity.

I pronounce it into your life that you shall receive freedom from every challenge boasting against you and molesting your existence. Such freedom include, among others, freedom from poverty, freedom from disgrace, freedom from insanity, freedom from sickness and diseases, freedom from arrow of untimely death, freedom from spiritual and physical robbery, freedom from demons, freedom from bareness etc. By this, every contrary challenge against your breakthrough shall fail, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

But then, when do we need divine help? We need divine help every day, every time and everywhere. Divine help should not be seasonal; you must look unto God always. But there are times, you think within yourself that the type of help you need is not human but divine intervention. At such time, one is hopeless only waiting for divine intervention. The question is, when do we seek divine help? We seek divine help when any of the under listed situations occur.

1. When you need divine help from evil pursuers. The book of Exodus tells how the children of Israel were impregnated with self-defeat as they approached the Red Sea. Moses knew, the only one who can help was God. As a leader of the team, the children of Israel cried to Moses, while he cried to God. The Lord Almighty, creator of all things, dramatized his power by dividing the Red Sea for save pass of the Israelites. This is divine help from evil pursuers.

2. When individual effort could not yield result. A striking example of this, was the man who sat near the pool by the Sheep Gate called Bethesda. He was there for 38 years looking for how he will enter the water when the angel of the Lord troubled the water. Before he does it, someone else will rush inside and be healed. This made him to be by the side of this water for 38 years unhealed! But the day he set his eyes on Jesus, his problem which took him 38 years expire less than, 38 minutes. I pray, every problem holding you down for years, holding you captive for time past, holding you down now, shall expire, in the name of Jesus.

3. When at tight financial corner. In this situation you will be mocked by enemies and detractors. To pay your children school fees become almost impossible. To feed becomes a nightmare. You are hooked and trapped in financial mess. Government came calling demanding tax from you in the like of Jesus and his disciples. In your situation, you have no one to meet to save you from financial molestation except Jesus. Hence, I pray whatever you lay your hands upon first as you read this book shall be used by God to lift you high, lift you out of financial bondage and set you before kings. Amen.

4. When specialist could not even help. We are told of the woman with an issue of blood. She was a sick woman with bleeds of blood for 12 years. She went from one doctor to another for several years without result. The bible says, not only that she was under the trauma of going about after doctors, but had spent all she had. The situation here is, she is sick and had spent all she had. She is hopeless, even the so called specialist could not help. Anyone in this situation will resign his faith to God. When this woman saw Jesus she thought within her and said Only if I can touch his garment, I shall be made whole. To God he resigned her hope, to God she received her healing. I pray, all hopes you lost as a result of one infirmity or other, shall receive answer today, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

5. When people ask, ‘where is your God’? There are situations, when question like, ‘where is your God? is asked. This is when you apply every human connection within your reach and it failed. People saw you as prayer warrior, but nothing works for you. You fasted, nothing works. You went for deliverance, no answer. You are now on the cross road, asking, Does God exist anymore? People talk to you and ask ‘where is your God’?

Your God is living and sees your plight; He knows what people say of you. This situation is likened to when the children of Israel murmured to Moses asking for water and at other time for meat. It was as if they asked Moses, where is your God? Where is the God that says we should worship Him in the wilderness? Shall we worship him in hunger and in thirst? Moses, provide us water and meat so that we don’t die. But divine help came and they were satisfied. I prophesy to your life today, that people who ask, Where is your God? shall see His mighty hand upon your life for good. Amen.

6. When spirit of death boast at you. There are times spirit of death boast to consume a person. The only power that can save one from spirit of untimely death is God. When the storm rose to consume the disciples in the boat with Jesus, they cried for safety. Jesus appeared in their situation and said Peace, be still: And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm Mark 4:39. I pray, spirit of death shall not consume you before your time. Every storm troubling your soul shall cease. Great calm shall locate your business, your career, your home and life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

7. When there is nothing anyone could do to help. In such situation, nature is against them, what they need is supernatural intervention. The bible tells us of a man who was blind from birth. His situation was unique in that he was not blind after birth, but was blind right from his creation in his mother’s womb. This was not a matter of surgery, provision of eye glass or drug. Even, if doctor provides these, it won’t work, neither could he see. What he needs is divine intervention that will erase his birth predicament. That, which was missing in his life, Jesus provides. I prophesy into your life today, what is missing in your life, God shall provide for you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

8. When the battle is too overwhelming for you to bear. There are occasions you feel you are bombarded all around, or surrounded by numerous enemies, or swallowed by deep pit, with no way of escape. There was the case of a man in the Bible, Mark 5:1-20, held by thousands of demons. He was helpless. He cried from mountain to mountain, from one tomb to another. He cried for help but could not find one, not until one day he came across Jesus. The battalion of demon in him surrendered to simple command of Jesus. Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit Mark 5:8. And the spirit obeyed. I pray every legion of unclean spirit troubling you from harvesting your breakthrough shall die, and rise no more, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

9. When God goes to your future to reverse that which is irreversible. The book of Genesis tells us that Sarah has Isaac at her old age, 90 years. God can bring to possible what man concluded is impossible. He is God that can make impossibility possible. The book of Genesis tells how God visited Sarah and gave her a son at old age of 90 years. The law of menopause could not hold her captive to bareness. Those who labeled her barren soon realized it was a mistake. Sarah who laughed and said, Can I bear children at my old age?, soon said, ‘So this is my child at last’. Doubt vanished in her life,
