POWER TO BUILD CAPACITY

The generation of capacity building is a factor of fruitfulness to excel in our endeavor. Capacity can shrink or improve depending how it’s managed. Capacity building is a cornerstone to excel at individual and organizational levels. By investing in continuous learning, skill development, and organizational improvement, Christians can adapt to change, overcome challenges and achieve excellence. As we navigate the complexities of the modern world, the commitment to capacity building becomes a strategic imperative for unlocking potential and thriving in a dynamic environment.

Capacity building is a dynamic and continuous process that aims to enhance our skill, knowledge, and abilities to achieve effective goal and sustainability. In today's fast changing world, the need for capacity building has become increasingly crucial. Whether at the individual or organizational level, investing in capacity building is a strategic move towards fostering excellence and staying competitive.

We should build capacity to grow, manage resources in our disposal and experience volcano fruitfulness. If there is no shortage of resources with God and heaven’s supply room then the problem lies here on earth with our capacity to receive. Here are principles we can learn from the scriptures about increasing our capacity. God dislikes waste. Surplus is not valid reason to engage in waste. When there are no more vessels the oil cease to flow. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, there is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 2 kings 4:6. When God fed the Israelites with manna, he told them to collect what they could eat for the day, when Jesus fed five thousand, he asked them to collect the fragments. There is no room for waste in the kingdom.

At the individual level, capacity building is about empowering people to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their personal and professional spheres. This involves acquiring new skills, expanding knowledge, and guiding existing abilities. Continuous learning, professional development, and acquiring diverse experiences are key components of individual capacity building.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26. This verse offers Christians insight into the Spirit's role in our lives, especially in moments of weakness and uncertainty. Romans 8:26 begins with the assertion that the Spirit helps us in our weakness. This acknowledgment makes us understand the profound spiritual capacity of the Holy Spirit. The term weakness is not confined to physical or emotional frailty; rather, it encompasses the entirety of human limitations and vulnerabilities. In moments of despair, confusion, or inadequacy, the Holy Spirit steps in as an invaluable ally.

It means the Spirit intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray. This aspect of the spiritual capacity of the Holy Spirit unveils its nature expressing the depths of our hearts and the complexities of our circumstances.

The prophetic words of Ezekiel 36:26-27 speaks volume. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. There is a divine promise of a renewed heart and the indwelling of the Spirit. The spiritual capacity of the Holy Spirit is immediately evident in the promise of a new heart; a heart not of stone but of flesh. This transformation is not a mere superficial change but a profound metamorphosis of the innermost being of an individual.

The Holy Spirit, with its spiritual capacity, takes on the role of a divine heart surgeon, replacing the wicked and unyielding heart with one of heaven. This transformation is the foundation upon which the subsequent work of the Holy Spirit is built. The promise extends beyond the external change of the heart to the internal indwelling of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit not only transforms but empowers believers to live in accordance with God's will. Holy Spirit becomes the driving force behind righteous living, causing individuals to walk in God's statutes and obey his rules.

Pray without ceasing is a simple directive that carries spiritual capacity of prayer in the life of believers. It conceals spiritual capacity that extends beyond occasional supplication or formalized rituals. It calls believers into a continuous state of communion with the divine. The notion of unceasing prayer challenges the conventional understanding of prayer as a time-bound ritual. Instead, it invites believers into a perpetual conversation with God, wherein every breath, thought, and moment becomes an opportunity for communion through prayer. Prayer becomes an integral aspect of the believer's identity and existence, transcending the confines of specific times or rituals.

There is spiritual significance and transformative potential inherent in the act of fasting. The spiritual capacity of fasting goes beyond abstaining from food. It involves a commitment to justice, mercy, and compassion. Fasting is a catalyst for social and spiritual transformation, urging believers to actively engage in addressing injustice and alleviating the burdens of others. The spiritual capacity of fasting, when aligned with righteousness and compassionate actions, opens the door to spiritual renewal and divine favor. It is a virtue Christians need.

In a rapidly changing job market, individuals must adapt to new technologies and industry trends. Capacity building helps individuals stay relevant and excel in their careers even in the face of challenges. Jabez did not keep quiet when he realized his potential and capacity was at stake. He cried to God. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10.

There are windows open to Christians today, but do they utilize it? Attending workshops, online courses, pursuing advanced degrees etc. can provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate complex of life. Additionally, cultivating soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability is essential for excelling in diverse professional settings.

We must continuously evolve and adapt to remain competitive and achieve objectives of greatness. Capacity building is wide and involves both individual and organization. At organization level, it involves strengthening internal processes, improving leadership capabilities, and fostering a culture of innovation and learning. Investing in the development of employees through training programs, mentorship, and leadership development initiatives is integral to building a resilient and high-performing workforce.

No one can limit or restrict your capacity for success unless you allow them to do so. Enlarge your tent in the place of your surroundings. Make and take conscious decisions to move beyond past limitations. You build sudden burst of faith that will take you beyond all previous points of past resistance. You, nobody else but you will make a decision to move beyond the boundaries that societal inertia or attacks of the enemy has taken you.

Capacity building will occasionally include the idea of an individual who needs to develop certain skills, improve knowledge, or grow in some ability in order to operate with a new attitude, mindset, or set of skills in order to reach some new or currently unattainable level of performance. Capacity building also includes strengthening the competencies and abilities of groups or teams so they can overcome the barriers that prevent them from reaching their vision and goals.

The book of 2 Corinthians 3:5 says, Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God. The Greek word hikanotés (capacity), in this verse, is also translated sufficiency, competence, ability, power, qualification, or fitness. It is only used once in the scriptures which makes it stand out and significant.
