About the Author
Dedication
In loving memory of my beloved mother and father who are no longer here with us in the physical realm on planet earth but are now my guardian angels, watching over me—over us—from the heavens above.
Always and forever in my heart, with all my LOVE, your daughter.
Butterflies
Symbolic of hope is the butterfly
Beautiful as can be
It flies by
Not a care in the world
It is free
Wonders not the question of
To be or not to be
The butterfly is
The epitome of beauty
Although once the
Ugly duckling
Disguised as a caterpillar in its cocoon
The butterfly breaks free
And not a moment too soon
Its timing is perfectly
Planned and destined
Its calling having been beckoned
Breaking free from
The ugly darkness
Going from
The worst
To the best dressed
Eliciting the desire
Of being caressed
Ultimately
Born blessed
Flying free
Searching for its happy place
Prejudice not an issue
Not with color
Not with race
Free from envy or jealousy
Playing catch me if you can
But ever so subtly
Butterflies are free to fly as we’ve heard
They’re like the bird
Flying freely through life
Without uttering a single word
They just want us to let them be
As they flutter by
Ever so peacefully
Fairy Tales
Should you believe in the enigma of a fairy tale?
Hold your breath for a moment
Don’t exhale
Think about it and mull it over
In your mind
And you may find
You can write your very own
Fairy tale story
Whatever your heart should desire
Is what you should seek to aspire
Whether it is the thrill of the chase
Or the contentment written all over your face
Find your place
Take a stand
You have the power
For it is right in the palm of your hand
Write your very own fairy tale story
Recognize it
Visualize it
Take inventory
Bask in the sunshine
And all its glory
Make sure there is
