    Introduction

Reflections from a Thirsting Soul are nuggets of inspiration and encouragement to spur you on your journey as you pursue your position, passion, and purpose. Recognizing that the cares of this world can cause us to become weary and thirsty, our souls then will need to be refreshed as we travel through it; my prayer is that my reflections will be an oasis on that journey. As you read each passage allow God’s spirit to speak to you, then write down your own thoughts, and/or share it with someone else, as iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17) so that you both may grow by the sharing.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6 NIV

    An Encouraging Word

"For everything that was written in the past was

written to teach us, so that through the endurance

taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they

provide we might have hope." Romans 15:4 NIV

"Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is God; he

is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a

thousand generations of those who love him and keep

    his commandments." Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV

In an age of broken promises, where a man’s word is no longer his bond, when contracts and covenants are meaningless, God steps up to remind us that he always keeps his promises to us. Believe that what is written in his Word, he will honor. If you are holding on to a pledge for your children, your marriage, your health, or that of a loved one, God is faithful. Don’t lose hope; your morning is on the way. Praise God for his steadfast love to you. Praise will give you the strength needs; it defeats the enemy of doubt, and it brings your focus away from your circumstances and on God. #TRUSTGOD

    Your Turn

    Talk It Over

"The Lord, your God, is with you, the Mighty Warrior

who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his

love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice

over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17 NIV

It doesn’t matter what you were told about the God of the universe is an angry God who seeks only to punish you for every misstep. Know this that God is not mad with you nor is his anger blazing against you. He loves you; he knew what you were going to do before you did it and he still chose to love you and sacrifice his son for you. The time has come for you to forgive yourself and allow God’s love to fill you and surround.

    Your Turn

    Talk It Over

"Even now—this is the Lord’s declaration—turn to me with all

your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning." Joel 2:12 NIV

As we are approaching the Lenten Season, (not everyone will read this near Lent), it is the time to begin to prepare and turn your focus to the cross of Calvary. Decide as a family or a group of friends to do a corporate fast. If you’re looking for a change in this time, open yourself up to hearing from God. If you would like some information on the different types and reasons to fast and other things you can fast from, send me an email, and I will get it out to you

    Your Turn

    Talk It Over

"A child has been born for us. We have been given a son; who will

be our ruler. His names will be Wonderful Advisor and Mighty

God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Greatest and best Christmas gift ever. In the busyness of the season, let’s not leave him under the tree. Share him with someone else as he is the gift that can be given and kept for yourself, not just at Christmas time but through the year.

    Your Turn

    Talk It Over

"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is

formed[a] in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the

work of God, the Maker of all things." Ecclesiastes 11:5 NIV

God gives us many promises through his Word or through a prophetic word spoken over us, and in our finite minds, we try to figure out just how God will bring it to pass. I think about Sarah and Abraham, God promised them a child, and they sought to help him out because it was taking too long; and we all know how that worked out. Solomon asked a question that still resonates today, who can know the thoughts of God? I know that I can’t, but there are days
