About this ebook

I refer to this first book of three as middle me. This was during the battle that was being waged inside not only due to all the physical chaos in my life but also due to the turmoil and passion in my heart and soul. I have never been a predictably formulaic “roses are red” poet as my glasses have never been tinted that color despite the love I have for every day. I decided to begin in the middle as earlier writing has an air of curiosity and innocence while recent writing is also a reflection in its own right. This book is about the time when I was drowning because I forgot that I had learned to swim.

If words are an expression of who and what you are in any given moment or any given day, then poetry to me is the music of the soul. As someone who has always been as musically inclined as I am fascinated in that art as well, I have always been better at creating my own music than performing someone else’s artwork. In each of my poems, I can draw one or more concepts for songs. The current of words, the push of a brush, the beat of a heart, and the humming vibe of a sound—they’re all similar energy that stems from the artist in us all, and we are all indeed master maestros. You destroy a pencil to make a picture; you destroy energy to emit dance. Passion is what I write about, and passion takes many forms, but as obtuse or sharp as some lines and concepts may seem, love has always eclipsed any negative emotion. I write for the same reason as everyone else does anything. It is a part of what I am as a human being, so therefore, I let it flow.
