About this ebook
Death. Do we hate to deal with the reality it brings?
This book is an expression of my thoughts on death and dying. Yes it’s the
Unknown and yes it can be scary especially if you’re not prepared for it.
This book will help you handle the inevitable. Remember death comes like
A thief in the night. will you be ready?
I can’t say it will be fun but after reading this book you’ll be ready when your
DAY IS DONE.
ENJOY!

I would like to thank God for allowing me to share His Word through poetry.
I want to thank my children: Ashaunta, Diondra, Dana and Oliver who continue
To support my writing efforts.
This book is dedicated to my uncle the Late Mr. Marcel Gilles who died while
Napping on Dec. 22,2015. I wondered when he laid down to take his nap if
He knew he would never wake up on this side again. Maybe? May be not?
That thought intrigued me.
We as a people never like to talk about death but we all know we will die
One day. Will you be ready? Some will and some won’t but the time is NOW
To get things in order because you never know when your Day Is Done.
HAPPY READING,
INGRID GREEN ADAMS
Introduction
This book of poetry was quite a challenge for me as I pondered
My thoughts on death and dying. The thought of death can be
Overwhelming. How does it feel to die? I became curious
Therefore I decided to share my thoughts with you
My beloved readers.
Now let me ask you to examine your thoughts. I know this is not
A lot of fun but have you thought how it would feel when your
Day Is Done? Will you be ready? I hope you will.
WRITINGLY YOURS,
INGRID GREEN ADAMS
SECTION ONE: MORNING
In That Great Getting Up Morning
67165.pngOne day in that great getting up morning I’ll fly away,
But stop what would you do if you knew today was that day?
How would you respond? Now tell me just what would you say?
Or do? Do you even know? Now tell me do you even have a clue?
It’s true most of us never want to think about that great getting up
Morning because it means we will leave this place,
Why do I say this? Because we don’t know what we are about to face,
So we sing about it, talk about it just in passing while living this thing
Called life,
Mostly never stopping to prepare for what lies ahead past all of our strife,
We are faced to deal with, oh yes, from day to day,
But the next time you think of this take the time to talk with Jesus and
He’ll show you the way,
To be content in order to live in peace and have joy until that very day.
Now I know you are wondering how can I write something like this?
Well let me tell you I once too was just about to miss,
All of the joy that will be awaiting me on that great getting up morn,
For once I was so lost, confused and captured in this world so torn,
From the things of the world always trying to fit in and always trying to
Believe,
All of the things that the world offered me without being obedient to God,
Yes indeed.
This world may offer you diamonds; this world may offer you pearls,
But between you and me, I tell you every woman, man, boy or girl,
Should get to know the Lord that’s right and get to know Him well,
Then on that great getting up morning baby it’s the life you’ve lived
That will tell.
Yes it’s the way you’ve helped others while living this thing called life,
That will give you the proper closure you’ll need to escape all of
