About this ebook

This book of poetry is about a girl's journey through life and how she dealt with the struggles along the way with the help and guidance of a loving family and God. It's about how she lived and loved, especially the love she has for her county. Some of you might be able to relate to the poems in this book or maybe you've lost someone or a family connection or it could be the love of music or our fine country. I think you will find that there is a mix of different topics to enjoy.

Family Inspiration - Brandi Jo Kiefer

    Father

People won’t tell me who you are

They think I shouldn’t care at all

    I don’t know your name

    What you look like

    Or where you are

But I wish on a star

I wonder if you think of me

If so why have you never looked for me

Maybe you did I’ll never know

But it makes me wonder though

Why we left our little town

    A place I thought I’d settle down

With friends and family always around

To a place where I feel sheltered and alone

With no calls on the phone

Just the sound of the birds and the bees

And the light breeze blowing in the trees

I hear them talk here and there

    But when I ask back

Everything goes silent with a stare

And all you can hear are the leaves

    Blowing in the light breeze

It makes me wonder without a doubt

What this hush, hush secret is all about

I cry myself to sleep at night

    Because I feel so alone

    Until morning light

Even though we have never met

I love you more than you will ever know

I ask everyone but they never knew

But I’ve been told I look like you

I wonder if I am like you in other ways too

I hope I will find out someday

But until then I hope and pray

    Every Christmas and birthday

I hope someone will find a way

To tell the secret they locked away

Now everyone who really knew is gone

    And I still live on

Wondering why people who loved me so dear

Didn’t realize that while trying to protect me

    From pain and hurt

They hurt me anyway because of lies

And not being truthful and sincere

So I’ll keep looking and praying and wishing

Until one day it all becomes clear

So until then I will miss you so

More than you will ever know

    Sisters

    Some are older

    Some are younger

    Sometimes you get along

    And sometimes you don’t

    They keep each other’s secrets

They help you when you’re in
