Poetry from My Heart
Author

Bonnie L. Carpenter

I grew up in Middle Falls, New York and went to Greenwich High. I have loved music since I was about three. I have done a lot of traveling around the world. I find poetry as a way to write about my feelings. I have been writing poetry since 1993. A lot of my poems are life experiences, while some are about people who have a positive effect on my life, and some are about negative experiences. They are all what has made me who I am today. A very caring, compassionate person. I love to brighten people’s days and hope in some small way that my poetry will do that. Also I get to share my thoughts of the people that are important in my life.

Poetry from My Heart - Bonnie L. Carpenter

    What You Do For Me

    Here I would be,

    So sad and blue.

    If you hadn’t,

    Come to my rescue.

    Help to put,

    My fears aside.

    No more searching,

    Or trying to hide.

    Your voice so sweet,

    Sets me aglow.

    My souls on fire,

    But nobody knows.

    You made me see,

    Sunshine skies,

    And even helped wipe,

    The tears from my eyes.

    My hearts in control,

And where ever it takes me,

    I’ll be willing to go.

    Your lips so tender,

    Put me at ease.

    For once in my life,

    I can be me.

    Words

    For I thought those words,

    Were so true.

    Not just something,

Someone said out of the blue.

    They had so much meaning,

    For I was told.

That when you found Mr. Right,

You were to cherish and hold.

    As a little girl,

    I lived in this dream.

That when I was to marry,

It would be the ultimate thing.

    Someone to lift me up,

    When I was down.

    Someone who would,

    Always be around.

    But reality has,

    Showed me different.

For three have come and gone.

    Two had no choice,

And the last one left me strong.
