About this ebook

Author Sara Grace’s life has been turbulent from the beginning. Even so, God has always been with her, walking her through deep grief and the darkest nights of her soul.

In It’s Not Your Time Yet, Grace shares the ups and downs that God knew He would send her even before she existed. She has experienced numerous heartbreaks and miracles throughout her life. Against all odds, she recovered from a medical situation that a doctor labeled “potentially lethal,” thanks to Jesus healing her and sending her an angel to comfort her. Because God has a great sense of humor, she and her family had many comical moments along the way. And then, tragically and suddenly, she lost the love of her life and best friend, her husband. Through it all, though, she relied on her faith in God, who supported her through everything.

Uplifting and inspiring, this memoir shares the personal narrative of a woman who turned to God to get her through the worst days of her life.

M y story starts even before my birth. It’s funny the way God works in our lives, but I have no doubt He has a definitive plan for me. My parents, William and Grace were told by Air Force doctors that mom was pregnant with me. Boy, were they wrong. You see if that were the case my mom wouldn’t have carried me for eleven months and then deliver a premature infant. After my parents were told she was pregnant they saw no need for protection. That’s where God decided it was time for me to begin my journey into this world. I believe if I could describe the look on His face it would have had to be quizzical and He had a HUGE smile. He went to work forming me. You see He formed each of us as Psalms 139:13, clearly tells us.

Let’s jump into the second miracle God did to bring me here. My dad was nervous as he was driving us to the hospital and so on the way there he accidentally drove down a one-way street, the wrong way. We have laughed many times over the years as the story gets retold. Thank God not even dad could mess up my arrival. Thanks, SO much dad! I now have a fear of one way streets, but we made it there safely.

The doctors could not hear my heartbeat so the delivery would be difficult. In those olden days’ they were kind to new mommies. They anesthesized them for delivery. Lucky ladies, but not to be for my mom. The doctors told her if I were still alive the anesthesia would kill me for certain. Another problem was that I had not even dropped yet. Needless to say, she went through so much to get me here. I can’t imagine the fear to know you may go through this nightmare of a delivery and deliver a dead baby, but she did. My mom was a trooper and I owe her my life!

Finally, I made my arrival at 5:00 p.m. but I was sick. I was at least six weeks premature and had no eyelashes, toenails or fingernails. I weighed six pounds, so that went in my favor. January 6, 1959, I came into this world just like God had planned! I had several issues being born so early back in 1959. God never left my side! He loved me through the difficulties and truly infused me with His strength! Thank You, Father! My big sister was not impressed with me.

She would go through the apartment with her hands over her ears yelling, Shut that crying kid up. My sister was 2 years old and 3 months of age at that time.

Let’s move down the road several months. I was about eight months old. I had a cold so mom took me to the doctor. They told her it was a cold. That evening as my grandparents who were visiting us from St. Louis, MO. and my parents were eating dinner, I was in distress in my bed in the other room. Jesus did a true miracle folks. You see my grandpa, who NEVER left the table till he was done eating, suddenly jumped up and ran into my room. I was choking on the phlegm and had turned blue. He cleared my throat and said, We are taking her to the hospital right now. Once we were at the hospital I was diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia not a cold. Thank you, Grandpa. You see that was three miracles. The first miracle was my grandparents were visiting us in Nebraska at the very time I needed someone to hear from God to save my life. The second miracle, my grandfather jumping up from the table during his dinner. The third miracle, him clearing my throat so I could breathe and live.

Now moving on to one of my favorite miracles Jesus did! I had turned about eighteen months old and had gotten very seriously ill. I was hospitalized and things were so bad that the little Nazarene church back home, started a twenty four hour prayer chain for me. They prayed fervently and it looked like even prayer couldn’t save me now. I had pneumonia. The doctor came out to my parents and told tell them I had died. Can you even begin to imagine the agony and grief they had to have experienced? They had fought so hard and so long for me, and now it was over. Interestingly enough, the prayer chain was going on even though I was dead. The church didn’t know I had been pronounced dead and their faith continued. When my parents came into the room with the doctor I was breathing and alive! Now folks, that’s an honest, to, goodness miracle! I don’t know any doctor that would tell parents their baby was dead if he weren’t sure of it first. The earthly doctor did all he could but it wasn’t enough. In steps my Jesus and brings me back to life!!! I have to say, Go God Go! You see that’s who my Jesus is. He can do anything! That doesn’t mean He always does step in but He certainly can and does at times. No one can stop the plan of God from moving forward for your life but you!

Oh how precious it is to go back and remember all that God has done in my life! Praising Him for those times brings new faith to my spirit to believe for today’s needs. Each new day brings with it new challenges. When I look back it shows me how far I’ve come and how I have lived through some rough and deadly times so I can trust
