WHEN I AM OLD
When I am old and mentally deranged
Handle me with care and not like I am strange
When I call, please answer with kindness
For I am old and absent mindless
Remember me when I was young and able to stand
Don’t pull away from me, hold my hand
Love me with the same tenderness and strength
As you did when I still had good sense
The Lord has let me live into old age
Please don’t put me away in a cage
Remember my face and beautiful smile
That you enjoyed so much as a child
I am the same woman who gave birth to you And was there with love your life through
STILL THE SAME
You once looked upon my face
As if I were the queen of grace
Your hand gently stroked my breast
As you lay your head on my chest
You smiled at me as I to you
And promised each other our love true
Many years have passed up by
