All About Love - Connie Roe
A Single White Petal
Her gown is white satin
with a touch of Victorian lace.
There’s an essence of old fashioned love
in the room with all it’s warmth and grace.
Her bed is made up in white eyelet.
There’s a fragrance,
exotic, yet sweet.
She’s a hopeless romantic
in search of her love,
and she finds him within a dream,
He’s more than a mere whisper in the night,
through a dream,
his presence is strong.
He comes to her when she needs his love,
and stays with her till dawn.
He brings her pretty white flowers,
roses, all in full bloom,
then a brisk south wind comes ushering in,
blowing petals throughout the room.
He lye in their bed of love by her side,
and they speak of days gone by.
They laugh, they love,
they share the dream,
then half out of her slumber, she cries.
Her tears are tears of happiness,
though she know that soon he’ll depart,
for his warmth and tender impressions
will remain deep within her heart.
As she pulls back the sheet to rise to the day,
she’s amazed,
though warmly impressed, for in her vision
‘a single whet petal’
lie delicately against her breast.
