Writing poetry has given me the strength to progress in my life day by day. It motivates me to express my inner thoughts, feelings, and life long experiences. As a child, I always enjoyed writing how I felt. Poetry to me has always been my way to express the love, anger, frustrations, etc that I carry with in myself. It keeps me strong and focused. First I would like to say welcome you to my world of poetry. In this book you will be taking a journey though many stages of my life. You will experience my pain, frustration, anger, happiness, and love. Being raised by a single mother and being a single mother myself I had to find an outlet to express my thoughts and feelings. Writing poetry was my way of having a voice. In the completion of my first book The Inner Thoughts Of A Poetic Butterfly I felt relieved, stress free, and powerful. Now as I have completed my second book The Deeper Thoughts Of A Poetic Dreamer I feel fortunate, blessed, and accomplished. As you read my poetry I hope you will experience the same feelings. As a poet I encourage all to join the world of poetry.

I am an Empress

For which you shall respect

Respect me for me

Not what you want me to be

Jah has made me strong

He’s made me powerful

To conquer this crazy world

So that I can be free

I am true to myself

Also being true to him

For giving me the strength

To not love him me, would be a sin

I am a true goddess

With a lot of fight in me

To live life to the fullest

And set all this pain inside me free

You sometimes look at me

And feel sorry for my pain

Please don’t do that

It drives me insane

My fight is strong

And I shall always believe

Because I’m Isis

And that’s the way it will always be

To let loose

And to reach the stars

With all this energy

That wants to keep me behind bars
