INTRODUCTION
This story is about two couples who decided to spend the day on their boat relaxing. Before they left home, it was on the news that Pirates were on the high seas. David, Pamela, Thomas and Mildred had no idea that they were going to end up in deep waters. They had planned not go too far out and enjoy the sun and water as usual. Thomas and Mildred Johnson had gotten back from their vacation two days before. David and Pamela Bryant were waiting to hear all the exciting things the Johnson’s did while on vacation. The Bryant’s owned the boat.
Neither one of them ever expected to encounter the experience of being captured by Pirates. This story has some interesting challenges in it. It will make you see how God works miracles in our lives every day and how He gets us out of life threatening situations in ways we lest expect. There is some humor also. Read on and enjoy!
Chapter 1
The Johnsons’ Accept Invitation
Often, David and Pamela Bryant would get on their boat and sail around the area where they lived. Sometimes, they would go out on the ocean and just drift and enjoy the sun. David and Pamela never went too far although the boat had a compass and navigator on it. David felt that if they were to go much farther out, that they should have a more experienced person to navigate the boat.
His dream had always been to own a boat. Now that he has it, he and Pamela would go on it regularly and sometimes they stayed out in the ocean for a couple of days. David would anchor the boat so they would not drift farther into the ocean while they were sleeping. Their best friends were Thomas and Mildred Johnson.
Sometimes they would go with them when they stayed on the boat for a couple of days. Although the weather changes sometimes, it was a beautiful and clear day. Thomas and Mildred had just gotten back home two days ago. They had been on vacation for two weeks. They were anxious to see their friends again. Mildred was excited to tell Pamela about the shopping that she did while on their trip. Today, they went and checked on their office, which is a medical office. They were planning to call David and Pamela in the morning. They had missed their friends so much. Both couples were anxious to get together again.
We haven’t seen Thomas and Mildred in two weeks. It’s time for us to get together. I had wanted to give them a day or two to rest up from their trip before calling them,
said Pamela.
David said, I was thinking maybe we could go on the boat tomorrow. I think that would be good for them to be able to just relax.
Honey when do you want to leave? Are we leaving tomorrow morning or in the evening?
Pamela asked.
Yes, I think in the morning would be better. We can go out early and come home before dark,
replied David.
Pamela said, I will call Mildred to see if they have plans for tomorrow. I hope that they have not made any plans.
Alright honey, I will go to the boat and check the supplies and everything. I want to check our safety gear and inflatable boat. The water and food supply should be good,
said David.
Make sure we have plenty of sun screen lotion,
said Pamela, and plenty of Gatorade.
Will do,
was David’s reply. I will be back in about an hour or so.
In the meantime, the evening news had come on and announced for people to be careful in their boats. The warning was for them not to go too far out in the ocean. There had been an incident of Pirates on the waters and they had robbed two families.
Pamela called to invite Thomas and Mildred to go on the boat with them tomorrow. Pamela was so excited to talk with Mildred that she forgot about the Pirate warning.
When Mildred answered the phone, she said, Hey girl! I was going to call you in the morning. We missed you guys. We told our friends that we met while on vacation, that you all are great and that we adore you both.
Pamela said, Girl, I almost didn’t recognize your voice! Thanks for the beautiful compliments. The feeling is mutual.
Is everything alright? We wanted to give you all a couple of days
