Rodgers’ Poetry and Philosophy

About this ebook
Gabriel L. Rodgers
The first poem I wrote was, “I Will Love You For Always”. The conception came about when I was thinking about a love lost or never had. The primary thought was if the love was ever there to lose or did I mess it up and didn’t know it. As the thoughts persist I put the situations into a simile that started making a vivid comparative life story. Days later and with more vivid comparative situations I decided to write the thoughts down. Once all the scribbling was done I hammered out the writing. The emotions of the events were artistically put into words to flirt with the readers mind to feel my desires as well as relate to ones own desires. It was emotionally straining to complete the poem at that time as well as the publication of this book. My heart now knows it’s over.

Just a Puppy In The Window
I am just a puppy in the window as you can see,
I am just a puppy in the window
and everyone likes bothering me.
My friends jump around and bark for joy,
but little they know soon they’ll be a child’s play toy.
Beaten with this hit with that,
when a child pulls my tail that’s when it’s time to bite back.
People come from all ends of town,
they look in the window and make faces like clowns.
I use to want a master compassionate and kind,
a master who didn’t have a psychotic type mind.
Crazy as it may seem it’s true you know,
their the ones who come to the window and put on a show.
Customers pick me up,
squeeze my stomach and mess up my hair,
I just want to say
if you’re not going to buy me just leave me there.
Customers kiss my face like I know where their mouths been,
the last time I checked adultery and fornication was a sin.
They say I love you but I know that’s not true,
cause I’m over here and your over there,
this is how I know that they didn’t care.
The day has gone and night rolls in,
I look around and I’m still in a pen.

667105_FNL_14-new.jpgWhy in our society it is common practice to honor and quote people after their dead and ridicule them while their alive?
The only regret I have in life is not having any regret. If I had regret I could feel normal like my neighbors, family and friends and not feel like an outcast.
What I Am Looking For;
What I am looking for it’s nothing special you see,
it’s something deep-rooted and inbreeded in you and me.
Integrity of the soul, personal secrets I would be told,
the heart of gold when I need to be consoled.
Someone who’s open minded and true to our heart,
someone who wouldn’t let just anything break us apart.
A feminine companionship is what I’m in search of,
to sore like an eagle and fly like a dove,
and to introduce me to this thing called love.
A soul I can embrace when my heart starts to ache,
when my knees start to shake you’ll know I’m not a fake,
cause it would take a girl who’s nice and kind,
which is hard to find, to turn our love into a fine wine.
An understanding mind that goals must be achieved,
an understanding
that our togetherness must not be misconceived.
Affectionate to my muffled and silent weeps,
the one’s that comfort me when I go to sleep.
we’ve walked on water now on land, hand in hand,
you and I shall take a stand.
- Gabriel L. Rodgers
No one has ever gotten rich by punching a clock. Rich people don’t punch clocks. Learn from the people who have achieved what you would like to achieve.
Purchases are made for material things but one neglects to invest in ones own education. For the price of one days coffee one can make a financial investment worth thousands years later.
One learns about other individuals’ problems but is the same effort put forth learning the best investment path to take? People converse and complain when grouped together but how much of that time is conversed on business strategies?
Most of our educational learning teaches one how to punch a clock and work for rich people. If one wants a change in ones finances one must learn differently and educate ones self for future endeavors
667105_FNL_13.jpgDaddy, I have something to tell you
I realize I can’t fill your shoes Daddy,
because I see your feet are too big.
I place my feet in your shoes anyway Daddy.
I stumble around and fall on the ground,
you help me up and tell me, chin up
.
The many shoes that you wear Daddy,
I should be able to fit at least one pair.
I won’t lose despair Daddy,
I shall do as you said Daddy.
The more books that I read,
the bigger my feet will grow.
the more that I learn,
the more shoes I
