About this ebook

This autobiography includes a story of a woman who went through many trials and tribulations in her life both good and bad. In this book, you will get to know this author up close and personal.

This book is about a woman whose life you might say is described as a roller coaster with the ups and downs in her life. Even with the hell she endured in the hands of her abusive husband and the mental, physical, and emotional abuse she went through for more than twelve years, she was able to get on with her life to raise three kids. Another trial she went through was the loss of her son at the tender age of twelve. Yet this woman has raised three beautiful kids. She inspires many other women who might be going through a similar situation to never give up and always have faith.

    Introduction

Hello my name is Cecilia Thomas. My name was given to me by my grandmother, whom I’ve never meet. My mother said she died young way before I was even born. I am now forty-six years old and was born in 1970 at a hospital in New York. I have three kids who are no longer kids but adults, two daughters one twenty-six and the other twenty-four and a little eleven year old son. Also have a beautiful granddaughter that is six years of age. I want to start by saying that I am the second to last child, I have five sisters and two brothers, and one brother whom is deceased; a couple of nieces, nephews and cousins. I am also blessed to still have my mother in my life; my father passed away before I had my first child.

I have decided to write my autobiography pertaining to my life. This idea came to me about two and a half years ago. So much has happened in my life both good and bad. One day I was sitting in my dining room when the idea came to me. Why not write your life story? So in this book you will get to know me up close and personal.

    Chapter 1

    YOUNGER YEARS

The day I got married was the most insane day of my life. This was the beginning of hell for me. But I suppose I’m jumping the gun a bit. One of my fondest memories when I was younger around seven years old standing in momma’s kitchen, holding a broom in my hand using it as a microphone and my other hand on my hip singing my heart out. As my mother walked into the kitchen she started clapping bravo, bravo we have ourselves a singer. I was delighted to turn around and see the biggest smile on my mommas face, at that moment I couldn’t have felt more happier. My mom then told me the neighbor upstairs heard me singing. She called me red bone That’s a nickname given to people who are really lightskinned back in the days. I was very light when I was younger and as I got older my complexion changed. I am now what you call a caramel complexion.

My mother was always my role model for the simple fact that she was a single parent and as you can tell I have a pretty big family. She always did her best when raising us and she did a pretty damn good job. When I younger I always loved going to school never wanted to miss a day. One day I recall specifically my mother wasn’t feeling too well and I remember crying and complaining that I did not want to stay home, so my mother got up and took me. Now thinking about it what kind of kid was I? What child would not want to stay home from school? I was the tallest girl in my second grade class and was super skinny. Not to mention one of the worst dressed kid in my class. You could imagine how this made me feel I got teased a lot about my height, weight and clothing. My mom couldn’t afford the finest things in life but we did have the bare necessities and she always did her best considering all the kids she had. And to me that was all that really matters.

Looking back, while I was growing up we barely had enough food to eat at times. When I went to school I always ate the school breakfast and lunch. Most other kids had money to buy snacks and lunch from outside. One morning I was sitting in the cafeteria at my public school and another kid came over and she said to me you are poor, eating the school lunch. Her comment made me feel so sad, thinking to myself why me? I got up to go to the bathroom and the same kid goes onto say the flood is over. Something they use to say when your pants are highwaters above your ankle. Some kids can really be mean and cruel and I myself was not one of them. Not to mention I also got teased about my shoes, the sneakers that were in style back then was either prokeds or
