Dedicated To My Son Scott
I think of you often and like your mother, I wonder what you would be like today if you were still with us. You were an amazing young man and if I may say; you were the consummate son, father, big brother and listening to Vixen, the best husband. I am so grateful to God for giving you to us for the time he did. We are also thankful for our grandsons your two boys and often dream about the impact you would have had on their life and how proud you would be of them today. They are growing up to be such scholarly warriors just like you.
I think of you as still being home, your picture is on the walls, mantle and in my office. It’s the first thing to pop up when your mother’s cell phone rings. You are in your brothers and sister wallet, FaceBook page and on the Internet. Your sons are so much like you; you are in the hearts of all your frat brothers and folks who have had the pleasure of meeting you. So many people never had the opportunity to know you but feel that their lives have been blessed through you.
Now that you are among the ancestors help us to grow and evolve from within. I feel your love guiding us when we are down, and when we are celebrating in our successes. I can truly say that this is the first time in ten years, I feel at peace. Funny, Scott my son, I honor and celebrate the life you lived, by living my own life with more passion, purpose and pride. Sleep my son!
I love you Scotty,
Dad
Dedicated To My Mother
Mom, your love is irreplaceable, which makes losing you to death an incredibly painful experience. I will carry within my heart a dull and lasting ache where I once felt love and security. Yesterday my last words to you were I love you and I will see you tomorrow! And your last words to me were
I LOVE YOU TOO!" My question to you is; DID I LOVE YOU ENOUGH?
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!
Rest In God’s Love Mom!

The Purpose Of This Book
Natural healing stresses and relies upon the body’s ability to heal itself. Originally, this meant using earth-based remedies, which included herbs, whole foods, minerals, body manipulations or adjustments and water baths; as well as lifestyle changes and often spiritual support to spur the body into a healing response. These days, natural healing generally centers on strengthening and activating body systems for healing; and preventing pain and disease by using substances from nature as remedies rather than factory or pharmaceutical chemicals produced.
In the strictest interpretation, the substances, techniques, and herbal formulas found in this book are usually used with as little modification as possible so as to avoid breaking down any delicate physical compounds or destroying the life force contained within them. Unfortunately, very few people gather their own herbs anymore or follow the natural medicines of our ancestors. The lack of emphasis on purity and potency has also resulted in the greater processing of natural substances, sometimes to the detriment of the life-energy and consciousness they once contained.
Although I am a natural healer, I have learned to respect allopathic and all other forms of medicine, as well as drug manufacturers and their products. When I sit at a child’s bedside and watch death rapidly retreat to a near victory, I can’t help but applaud whatever turns the tide, be it drugs, herbs, prayer or a mother’s touch.
I say thanks; but in my opinion, the focus of medical researchers and pharmaceutical companies is to combat symptoms of injury and disease (with risks and side effects); rather than treat the cause of the ailment and strengthen the immune system, in order to improve the zest and vigor of the whole body. Very little is done to help the body deal with prevention and the risks and side effects of merely combating symptoms can become quite intolerable during one’s fight for survival.
Since the beginning of time, without access to prescription drugs, many of our ancestors have sought alternative ways of healing disease. The safe and successful methods of healing the body have been passed on through generations, while the ineffective or risky ones die with disuse. The distillation of the ages has built a rich storehouse of ways to build zest, heal disease, increase vigor and restore energy daily. Perhaps, you may have used many of these formulas in your own home, with little expenditure of time or money, whenever you wanted to feel your absolute best. This is what makes most of the formulas and refreshers in this book natural
instead of manufactured.
The relief-seeker tends to look for answers pertaining to their health and wellness from the world outside of themselves instead of seeking change from within. Many natural health practitioners sell vitamins and herbal supplements (for additional income) to their clients with good intentions of bombarding the body with nutrition. Unfortunately, many of them cause problems in the stomach, making things worse instead of better.
I generally don’t give advice about using vitamins, herbs, or homeopathic remedies, other than relating personal research and experience. However, I have found that some vitamins and supplements have the potential to cause more harm than good unless one has knowledge of how they work and they are carefully chosen and monitored. Focusing on their use alone can divert attention from what is out of balance on deeper levels, where disease begins.
Homeopathic and naturopathic doctors mainly work with vitamins and herbal remedies made from the energy imprint or consciousness of the sun, soil, water and air.
Traditional Chinese medicine helps people balance their bodies and heal. Sometimes the attention on using physical or energetic substances as spot remedies to ease symptoms is over-emphasized; once again aiming to help symptoms, not heal the root cause.
Natural healers stress prevention of disease and usually recommend diets of healthy or healing foods. I believe that you are what you eat and in the African ancestor’s concept that our food is our medicine. For this reason, I strongly recommend that you consider changing what and how you eat as a first resort to allowing your body to relax and heal. It has been said that when you change the way you view anything, then the things you are looking at changes.
Changing your diet is a great way to learn about your emotional relationship with, and attachment to, food. This book is designed to encourage you to consider using earth-based foods and natural remedies to prevent disease and/or heal your body.
There is a tremendous difference between feeling good and feeling great. Even when no special miseries plague you, you can almost always feel better than you do at this moment. Most people would love to make it to the end of their workday with energy to spare but just can’t seem to muster up the needed energy to do so. The formulas and tonics in the chapters that follow will help to energize you mentally, physically and spiritually. You will have stamina you did not know existed in today’s world!
There is a state of mind and body so spectacular that experts call it The Tonic Response. The Tonic Response is that perked-up feeling which usually follows exercise, massages, hot baths and cold applications when suited exactly to your own body’s needs. Unless you have actually experienced it, the words sound as exaggerated as descriptions of bright colors to a blind person. Although millions of people pursue this sensation in various ways, each day, almost anyone can actually discover it through the methods that I have outlined for you in the chapters that follow. Yes, the sure-fire formulas listed in this book will help you go from feeling good to feeling great!
The rebuilding food programs that are prescribed probably won’t make you feel better the first day you try them or even a week later, however, in about three weeks you will not only find yourself less tired by the end of the day but more efficient in everything you do. You will also find that you are less liable to colds and other illnesses. All of this, without spending a dime on vitamins or supplements. Improved body, poise, and balance will result in much the same way. You will experience a gradual improvement in endurance and physical attractiveness.
This book also discusses several refreshers to assist you in cleansing and building healthy cells or how to just blow off emotional steam. From pick-up baths, herbal formulas, detoxifications, and recreational exercises to cleansing the colon, liver, gall bladder, kidneys, lungs, and blood. In addition to that, ways of bringing the body back from the infestation of parasites, yeast, and inflammation so that the body will be able to withstand any amount of bacteria and virus our environment sends its way.
The body is the most remarkable computer in existence. There is no computer that surpasses its capability no matter how large or modern they may be. There is no mind brilliant enough to synthetically make a human, yes, there are clones but that is only a copy of the real thing. And there is no way to keep the body alive when its natural story is complete, and it is time for its transition.
From my study of biophysics and understanding of quantum physics and theorems, it seems every single cell is in constant communication with every other cell in your body. Isn’t that an awesome realization of truth? This means no one part of your body can function independently. With this constant communication of network all working together, it forms the parts of your wholeness. Wholeness (holistic) means having all aspects of your body, mind, and spirit in a state of balance, harmony, and wellness. On the contrary, when aspects of our body are not in full communication; when the many forms of stresses of life have compromised this communication, a state of disharmony then begins to manifest in the physical, emotional, and/or spiritual aspects of your body.
The manifestation of these imbalances might be in the form of digestive, hormonal, heart, skin or breathing problems or it might show with multiple symptoms such as allergies, chronic fatigue, constant viruses, cancer or a myriad of other diseases.
Please understand that your body may not reach this state of wholeness overnight because your body did not get the unhealthy condition it is in overnight. However, as you become more serious about your health and start making changes to the way and things you eat, drink and think, you will notice a euphoric addition to your daily life and almost certainly an immediate energetic boost. If you read through this book and apply the ideas that best suits you as an individual, you will almost certainly start to feel better and will keep feeling better through the weeks, months and even years ahead. When the student is ready the teacher will appear.
During your journey through this book, be willing to let go and let the body teach you exactly what it needs.
Chapter One
You Are Wonderfully and Fearfully Made
Thanks To My Ancestors
I would like to dedicate all that we know today about modern medicine to my ancestors, the ancient Egyptians, who gave this world medicine. As you may already know, the study and practice of medicine started in Ancient Egypt. Primitive by today’s standards, physicians in Egypt nonetheless showed great initiative and impressive knowledge of the human body and its inner workings, as well as the treatment of illness and disease. As a civilization, the Egyptians were very fearful of illness and disease. Perhaps it is for this reason that medicine became such an important pursuit for them. They did what they could to prevent illness, by bathing and purifying their bodies habitually, shaving off their heads and body hair (women included), and maintaining a diet that excluded many unclean
animals (including fish). However, they still could not escape the onslaught of disease. Because of this dilemma, the Egyptians pursued rapid medical research to combat these diseases. Egyptian medicine became a far-reaching discipline, encompassing many other fields. Egyptian physicians, like physicians today, were specialists in their particular disciplines. These disciplines included pharmacology, dentistry, gynecology, crude surgical procedures, general healing, autopsy, and embalming.
I believe it is from the process of embalming, or mummification, that Ancient Egyptian physicians gained their greatest knowledge of the human anatomy. During the mummification process, which prepared the dead body for its journey into the afterlife, most of the organs were removed (brain, intestines, lungs, liver, etc.). This provided opportunities for examination and observation of many specimens through the years in the pursuit of medical knowledge. In fact, the Egyptians were so extraordinary in their knowledge of healing and anatomy that they impressed the Greeks, who were quite knowledgeable in the field of medicine in their own right.
I am so thankful that my ancestors, chronicled their medical research along with all their knowledge on papyrus scrolls. Some of these papyri still exist today, and I have had the rare opportunity to be able to see and read some of their medical research on original papyrus. The documents
