Benjamin F. (Robinson) Roberts, Jr Born in Shreveport, LA, to Benjamin F. and Jennie Johnson (Robinson) Roberts. He spent most of his teenage years living in Bronx New York and some in Newark New Jersey. He is a graduate of Walnut Hill High School, Shreveport, LA. Where he was an outstanding athlete especially in track and field. He attended Los Angeles College majoring in Sociology, in his second year he was drafted into the United States Army. After serving his time for his Country he returned to college to complete his Sociology Degree at Santa Ana College after being called to the ministry. He moved to Lubbock, TX, to study Christian Education and Biblical studies at Lubbock Christian University. While pastoring in Lubbock he continued his education and his ministerial training at Bishop College and Dr. WA Criswell Minister Institute at First Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. He hosted the 1982 State Missionary General Baptist Convention in Lubbock, TX. He became the first Afro-American District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He served on various boards while in Lubbock, TX. He moved to Amarillo, TX for pastorage where he served almost thirty years at the Shiloh Cathedral of Praise Church. He organized local activists to Washington DC in 1989 for the National March for the Homeless. He was designated by the city of Amarillo, TX to represent the city at the Texas Capital in Austin regarding state financial expenditures for the area and served on countless boards. He was in the funeral home business for nearly twenty years, a licensed general insurance agent and Notary Public. He has pastored six churches in his forty-six years in ministry. He and his wife Brenda F. (Brown) Roberts have full hands in loving nine children, one is deceased, they also have 25 grandchildren, five great grandchildren as they reside in Amarillo, TX, for over 33 years.
