The Coffee Shop - Mr. Alray Fulwood
THE COFFEE SHOP
7:30am . . .
Only a matter of time
before the coffee shop opens.
Only a matter of time
that seems like an eternity as my wants,
needs, and desires, for that first cup of the day
slowly approaches.
At the coffee shop the choices are many.
Whatever my fancy, foreign or domestic,
decaf or with caffeine, with or without sugar and cream,
the skies are the limits.
With the hour soon to come,
my thoughts become displaced
by the sound of rain on my window sill.
The pitter patter sound that echo’s in the air
gives a hint of the wetness
that awaits me to enter into its domain.
A wetness that will soon cover my very existence.
A quest in which the flowing sands of time
will seem to stand still.
My will is unwavering, my desires never fading.
I push forward in pursuit of that which awaits me.
With the first step comes a chill
as nature’s wetness envelopes me.
With each ensuing step the chill begins to subside
as a warm and comforting feeling takes its place.
Lifting my head to the stars, I open my mouth
and let nature’s wetness quench my every thirst.
Who needs coffee anyway . . .
FOR YOU…
For you,
I can be that special song you love to hear.
I can be your comfort from all of your fears.
I can be that true love that will always be sincere.
For you, I will . . .
For you,
I can be that fantasy you’ve longed to live.
I will shower you with all of the love I have to give.
I’ll be the one you spend the rest of your life with.
For you, I will . . .
For you,
I can be your moon and stars above.
I’ll
