About this ebook

Like Pages of a Diary, consists of poems that speak on love, pain, inspiration, peace, issues we face everyday, and gaining understanding of life. This work is a collection of thoughts that the mind and heart thinks, but the mouth does not always speak. This book is the voice of the speechless and hidden. It reaches out to those who feel lost, confused, happy or proud. Within the pages, the spirit of all people, not just African American women, but all women, men, and young adults, can find themselves and/or find something they can relate to, they can say this is their personal story or thoughts that passed through them.

This book of poetry is not written to offend, depress or degrade any sex, creed or race of people, but to up lift, motivate and strengthen the knowledge of society. I would like to think there is a poem that can capture each reader and brings a new understanding, not just about life, but also about oneself.

This poetry, as my eyes see it, is the light that shines on the world, bringing us from darkness. Poetry is the root of peace and a calmness that over flows into our lives daily.
Poetry reminds us of reality, and the fact that nothing in life, or in us, is perfect.
This book of poetry represents me, what I stand for, strive for, see and feel, as well as what others have taken in during the span of their lives-April

April N. Royal

An Augusta, GA native, April views writing as one of the greatest tools of expressing what hearts feel but mouths are too afraid to speak. Through her writing she feels she is the voice of every woman that has ever dreamed every spirit that only wished to claim its wings and float into the souls of the hopeless and lost to help them find their way. A graduated of Savannah State University, April now resides in the metropolitan Atlanta area. April attributes her talents to her loving parents John and Joyce Royal, her sister Wanda Reeves, who all reside in her hometown of Augusta, GA, many friends who inspired her and helper to make this dream a reality, and to the life of her son Kory. Thank you all so very much, without you this book would only be a dream

    DEDICATION

People pass us everyday, never concerning themselves with what we need.

    They stay until

    Until something,

    Someone,

    Some place better comes along.

    But there are those diamonds

That shine above the gems and rubies.

There are those people that love and live

    And live to love.

    Thank you.

To my loving mom and dad, Joyce and John Royal, my sister Wanda Reeves and to the two that helped make my dream a reality, Lenisha Fulton and Tonie Tobias.

My eyes begin to talk with Time

Asking it how fast it can pass by.

    "Love is calling for me

And my heart wishes to answer."

"But you are going by too slow,

By the time I reach Love’s door,

Love won’t want to see me any more."

Instead of saying hello, there will only be goodbyes.

    Then Time turns to reply,

"If there is love, Time will not run her away.

If Love does not wait for you, then Love has no love for you

Love is real, pure, and true.

Love wouldn’t want to go on without you.

Love doesn’t die like roses that got too much sun.

Love is forever like the shining of the sun."

    The Birth of My Angel

On this day I give thanks.

On this day I send up the highest
