Author

Joseph Bartley Haltom III

Joseph Bartley Haltom III was born on July 26, 1983, in the small town of Grenada, Mississippi, to Joseph Bartley Haltom Jr. and Mary Ellen Ingram Haltom. He was affectionately nicknamed Joey by his grandmother, Mary Lou Stegall Haltom on his birth. Since then, he has had several nicknames. Truly, Haltom has many names and has invented a few himself. He was born to be a writer, but he lost his interest in creative writing after midchildhood. He has always been drawn to the creative arts, and he might have been an excellent painter had he not lost his interest early on in life.

    This book is

dedicated to April. April has always been my guiding light; my love for her has been my guiding star throughout the darkest of my days without her. Forgive me April. I’ve always been desperate to know you, and have sought you out all these years we’ve been separated. Our love was meant to be, and I’m sorry for this huge delay that has hurt me all this time, and I’m truly sorry it took this long to start getting these words to you and the world about my endless love for you. It’s something that has haunted me for years that you might never know the truth of what I feel for you. I know these words are pure madness, but I’m madly in love with you for all of eternity whether we both can make peace with that or not. Blessed Be April. Blessed Be My Love.

Preface: A Dance in the Dark

Writing is a lot like looking into your mirror; a mirror you seldom stop to ponder your beauty in. Good writing feels; you feel it, and others are touched by the primordial force a sentence can bring to the surface. Having a good line or two is essential, but the work has to stand on its own.
