    In 2017, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. From a tiny store on Maui founded in 1977, we have grown to become one of the leading independent natural food store chains in Hawaii and the country. We have always been an all-vegetarian store with an award-winning deli.

    Our broad offering of tasty prepared vegetarian foods makes Down to Earth a destination for people from all walks of life seeking food that is not only delicious but also good for you. In this cookbook, you will find 40 recipes to celebrate our 40-year history. It is inspired by many of the most popular dishes from our cooking classes and our deli. The recipes reflect our dedication to excellence that drives every aspect of what we do at Down to Earth.
