Ruth Jensen

Ruth Jensen, like her mom, was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario as one of three siblings. Her father was born in raised in Newfoundland. Like many of youth today, she also went through a lot of trouble in school and had to overcome serious bullying. Ruth is now a single mother of two totally amazing kids and a proud grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters. She has been out on her own since 1998 and has been battling and winning a lot of mental health issues including depression. She hopes to share and inspire others who might be experiencing the same things with her poems.

A Hard Thing!

Love is a hard thing to understand,

People will do thing’s to someone and

Turn around and tell them they did it

out of love.

If you truly love someone, you would

Do anything and everything you can

To make them happy.

You would never take them or their love for

Granted!

When you truly love someone you forgive them

For the mistakes they may have made

And the hurt they had put you through.

To you without truly meaning to do so,

I love someone and I would do

Anything and everything for him.

My love for him will never change

it will only grow stronger for him.

No matter what has happened

in our life, my love

will always belong to him.

A Girl Like Me

I let you into my life and opened my heart up to you.

I let you get so very close to me, as no other has ever been before.

I always believed all that you ever said to me, I never once doubted you.

Even after you kept breaking my heart over and over again, but no matter what you put me through my love I had for you never once changed nor did it ever die.

I always talked to you if you called and if you ask to see me I never once said no, I was always there for you no matter how much I was hurting.

To all who knows us and all that we were going through they all thought that you were a very lucky guy to have a girl like me love you.

They all went on about how they would love to have someone do all for them as I had once done for you.

Yet here we are once again, you’re back with her and I am alone wondering what I had done wrong?

To all who knows us they think you’re very nuts to give up a girl like me to whom they all could see loved you very much. Even though I now know all that you had ever said to me was just your lies to get your own way and all that you wanted. The love I thought I once had for you and all I had ever said was never once a lie.

If anyone never truly loved someone here, it was you who never really loved me right from the start.

A Lonely Path

As I walk on this path all alone, each and every day.

I stop to see and smell the beautiful flowers that outline this path that I sadly walk.

As I walk this path no one at my side, I sadly watch lovers as they pass me by.

Yet I will never take another path nor will I ever turn another way, I will keep to my lonely path.

For I so hope and pray each and every day, that one day when I come to its end I will happily find you standing there waiting for me,

but for now I will sadly keep walking this lonely path each and every day until that day does come for me where you my love will be at its end waiting just for me.

All I Ever Did

I sit here in the spot to where I had once sat waiting for you to come And see me, but only this time you will not be coming to see me.

You have left me and for some reason I still do not know, you will have nothing at all to do with me.

I find myself thinking of all you had put me through for so long and how no matter what you had done to me I never once turned my back on you.

I was always there for you if you asked me to be, I was even there for you when I was going to give up and let you be with her, as I started to feel in my heart you wanted to be.

I came and saw you when you had yet another fight with her, even though I knew it still wasn’t over.

I came to you because I loved you and could never turn my back on you, like you have just done to me.

So many have tried to tell me you were only playing games with me, that you truly did not love or want to be with me.

I didn’t listen to any of them, and always got in to fights defending you.

You said that I was not too bright and its funny how that is the one thing you got right about me, for if I truly was bright I would have
